Thought my edge 1000 would look out of place on the Brompton so this is perfect.

Mine has very quickly become my favourite bike, it has character and is fun. I too have a road bike and an off road hybrid but pick the Brompton most of the time smile

I don't know whether to be pleased or not that this thread was bumped this week, just when I've finally had a cycle to work scheme set up. So today I've put a deposit on a lime green and black S6L black edition. I was going to go for the -12% gearing (there's a massive hill on the way to the station) but I can always change the chain-ring later; it's a lot harder to get the black bits.

Where can I buy lime green tweed plus fours...?
You won't regret it, I love my bike and the membership to the eccentric club smile

I'm swaying more towards the Marathon plus rather than the Kojak as my route to work takes in some slippery paths! Is there much between the standard and the plus?

Having cycled to the station on Thursday, I've realised how quick a Brompton is. I expected sub-10mph but my first mile was over 14mph and I didn't drop much under 11mph. Which takes me back to gearing; I'm a spinner, not a grinder. I used all of my standard S6L ratios but I think I'd get more use from a lower 1st than the current 6th. The gaps between gears aren't small so a -12% chainwheel might also close them up a little.

Anyone tried a 44-tooth chainwheel on a 6-sp Brompton?
I got mine to over 20mph on the flat last week, I have a 2 speed that suits my needs smile

I have a spare one of these Aldi saddlebags: https://www.aldi.co.uk/bicycle-sports-bag-with-too... which I considered fitting to my Brompton (I have one on each of my other bikes already). I did wonder if it would interfere too much with the fold; it's easy to unclip but has a velcro strap round the seat post as well, which isn't so quick to undo.

Instead I mounted a Lidl phone holder and bag on the bars - coincidentally available from tomorrow in their cycle special: http://www.lidl.co.uk/en/our-offers-2491.htm?actio... (the zip one, not the flat one with a flap, though both use the same clip attachment). It rests on the bell so that doesn't ring properly, and you have to attach it to the left of the stem so the mount doesn't foul when you fold the bars, but it's easy to clip on and off, and has space for a wallet, phone, puncture repair kit or whatever.
I used a spare saddlebag similar to that for a while, as you say it has to come off to fold. I'm like that I can just leave this one on the bike and that it's Brompton.

Does it just hang from the back of the saddle? I was quite keen on a little extra storage. Though I've been reluctant to attach anything else to the bike because it adds weight when carrying.
Yes it just attaches like old fashioned saddle bags.

What about a rear light in conjunction with that rear saddle bag?

I have the extended seatpost, and my light is mounted low enough so it rests exactly on the top of the seat post tube when the bike's folded.

Even so, I think it would be covered by the Brompton bag.

Is there a fastening for a light?
No you would loose the rear light in that position, I have the Brompton reflector light which is at the bottom so it doesn't foul.

I understand that the standard light is too low to be seen by taxis etc around town..
It only hangs down a little still plenty of room for a light underneath smile

Agreed yes. I just meant that the standard light position, by brake caliper or on the rack , is allegedly too low down to be seen in city traffic.
I quite fancy one of these .. http://www.bikebrompton.com/accesorios.aspx?Id=bla...
