Do you have any issues with getting on trams, tube, buses or trains?

My office location might be changing which will mean tram instead of drive.
No issues, that's what they excel at smile

This seems to be one of the best followed Brompton threads, so I'll start here.

I've replaced the chain and rear cassette, (2 spd) and am having a little problem, when in the larger of the two cogs.

I put the larger of the cogs on with the stamped writing facing outwards, (away from the hub), and reassembled everything else without problem. Now when in the larger cog, the chain doesn't engage well with all the teeth, clicking very noticably about 2 or 3 times per cog revolution.

The cog has a set of slight teeth offsets built into it, which I assume is to aid shifting. Have I simply got it on the wrong way round? It's the one thing I didn't check as I took the old one off.

I have the hub adjusted correctly, the derailleur is lined up and shifting fine, it's just this. On a new cog and new chain. (All Brompton official items.)

Any ideas?
I had a similar problem sounds like you need to index the gears.

When I took the gear assembly of mine to fix a puncture it wouldn't go onto lower ring and indexing sorted it.

Post a pic of your bike up smile

Any mods or good bits I can buy that'll add to my Brompton experience?

I'm on nights at the moment and commuted on the tram. Prefer this to driving in/back.

Still bawk at the price I paid but I've used it for quick shop, buy bread, pub and work.
Get a Brooks saddle and some Brooks grips, fits the exentric British look.

At my previous employer, I got so much stick from a colleague, I challenged him to a race. Topsham to Exmouth along the cycle trail, if anyone knows it.

I started with it folded, and was even in racewear appropriate for the Brompton World Champs. (No lycra, shirt, jacket and tie.) I went for a bow tie and tweed jacket.

I was past him in a couple of minutes, and finished in 2/3 of his time. He stopped taking the piss after that.
Haven’t been on Pistonheads for ages, and my post is still running! I also had a lot of stick at work including Police tape lol
