The Tacx Flow will hook up to an iPhone and a Mac OK, so presumably an iPad as well. I needed an ANT+ dongle for Zwift to recognise my ANT+ heart rate monitor, but bluetooth sensors should work OK

Get one of these for your laptop. I used it with a Flow and it worked fine. No drivers or anything needed.

got 11th in the “race”. 280w average. pretty horrible up those box hill sections, i lost touch of two quick B guys on the first one so waited for the chasing pack a minute back, second climb again two B guys’ve then ahead but thankfully bridged accross and got them before the line

i used to pay fortunes for indoor watt bike “gym” sessions, now with zwift it’s more stimulating, better training and cheaper

Twice up box hill at race pace is pretty horrible hurl

Especially when people are pulling out a gap on you and you have no more left to give.

yeh, i am now thinking i should have just solo'ed and not waited the minute to the chaps behind, they were only 4 people and i find the draft benefits of being in that small a group not great. wasnt too long till the next climb anyway.

live and learn.

If anyone want a proper brutal workout then every Sunday morning at 11.05am mgcc do their pretzel ride, that’s twice up the mountain 1365m of climbing and 73 Kms in length I went sub 2 hrs a few weeks ago and was violently sick for the rest of the day.

May give this a go. Sounds good.

I've did the Maratona Dles Dolomites ride the other week which was 2hrs 40 on the turbo. If anyone had told me that I would achieve such a long session on the hamster wheel a couple of years back I'd have said they were mad. There were prizes available for finishers.

Really enjoying it at present, my power curve seems to be improving and smoothing out and whilst its only an estimate (and I don't have one for the road) its interesting to measure any gains.

I planned on doing an easy ride last night on a the london loop course, to make sure my legs are okay for a long ride today.

Ended up getting a new 5 min power up box hill and taking 30 secs off my best time (8:11)

I'm amazed at how quickly my power has been increasing, not only through targeting different time valves to push for but also from the training zwift allows you to do.

I road a ride called 3 sisters the other day but I now can't find how to get back onto it.
How do you go about getting the different locations?

Got a Tacx flux which I have linked with my ipad

Basically there seems to be quite a large discrepancy between my effort and the speed achieved within the app and what i'm actually doing from my Garmin in the real world.

I know i'm not Chris Froome but i'm not Dot Cotton either. I just seem to be overtaken by almost everyone whether on the flat or climbs. A good example is the other night climbing mount Watopia - i'm in my 54T at the front and 21/24T on the rear cassette doing a cadence of around 75/80.

In the real world going up one of my local climbs that would equate to around 18/19kmh - Zwift says 8kmh.

I've done the Calibration thing on the Tacx a few times now but seems to make no difference - is there a setting i'm missing?

I've been honest on my weight (80kg) but short of frigging that i'm clueless what's going on, anyone had the same issue and how did they resolve it?

not sure you understand fully how it works, its done on watts and then it works out how fast you would be going in their virtual world based on elevation and drafting.

i can sit there spinning at 100rpm in 53/15 doing 400w, my garmin on my bike will say 60kph, but zwift will say 10kph becuase im going up a fk off hill.

It's actually more like every 3-4 days that they change the area (of which there are 3 in rotation). Google Zwift Schedule and you'll find what's on each day or simply look at the colour coding on the calendar in the start screen. 3 sisters is in the Watopia area.
