In truth the only action is the police. But if you got his address you could sue him, but probably on the dole so pointless.

Any other suggestions on actions to take.

Banks (on both sides) informed
Police informed...

Passed on details of the fraud to 'buster jack' to help prevent future fraud hopefully.

I'd like to break his legs, but of course I'd get arrested for that.
Only if you're found out wink

LOL I'd have to edit that post and the quotes if he were to meet with an accident.

idea Maybe...... there's another way! What you need to do is pull a scam on him - There must be some way to pull it off, and what poetic justice it would be.

There is a real Joe Mitchinson in Wigan - I know of him anyway. That said, he doesn't live in that area of Wigan. There's every chance that the scammer has picked someone real on the offchance that you'll search on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram.

best way is paying/asking someone at barclays to give you the details to the account.

Yeah, i've found him but dont want to potentially blindly blame someone who could be innocent. I called him the other day and asked a few questions - seemed oblivious enough so let it go.

Yup, the problem is tracing the guy though. I cannot get any info from Barclays.

Pinkbike seems unusual. I remember selling a SX frame to someone in Scotland as immaculate (it was). He emailed me post receipt saying how amazed he was. Was expecting it to be highly subjective.

I was flabbergasted. Why send £600 into the unknown if your expectations are that low? Apparently pinkbike was targeted by scammers and some bullstters. I always aim to meet/collect on there. Never post unless it's PayPal with a long conversation on messaging before. Good luck OP.

Your new bike will rock. Use your frustration to make it ride more £££ to the mile than it would have!

Strange he picked that address though. Normally, random names/addresses are not that random. There is always a link somewhere. See what the Police say, but doubt you'll have much luck there. Low priority for them frown

anyone got access to electrol register info?

I've done some basic google searching to see why lives at the address, but cant find anything unless I go through a pay site. Its an option, but seeing if the info is freely available makes more sense.

Leicester vs. Greater Manchester
Really? confused

I must be one of literally millions of people in this country who first opened a bank account whilst living at home with their parents, moved away after Uni and never changed their branch. Why would I?

Yep, even when you do update your address to the new area and change your home branch mine still has retained the original sort code!

I suspect it would be too much work to change as standing orders etc would need to be updated.

Anyway let us know what the police say OP. Maybe pinkbike will give you details of other victims so the police will be persuaded it's worth their time.
