Hi anyone know if the camera by junction 20 on M25 is working? After a stressful journey back from wales last night I was papped at 110........ yes yes I know very irresponsible of me but after sitting in about 15 different 20/30/40/50 restrictions all the way home I just wanted off that bloody motorway! The camera was on the gantry not in the side of the road

  • I cant answer your question. But...
I used to use this road daily on my commute into London.
I used to pass them at quite a reasonable speed with no worries.
I did see them flash others on a fairly regular basis though.
Pretty sure there have been threads on here where people have received tickets.
At 110 I'd be worried but can't really blame you - it's a pretty nice clear, wide road and speeds well in excess of that would not feel uncomfortable during the quieter parts of the day.
Good luck!

Have they turned these on even when the temporary speed restriction signs are not displaying? There was a suggestion they only work when reduced limits displayed but having said that if it was off I wouldn't have expected it to flash?

Someone I knew worked in the traffic control room for the M25. I was told that if you went over a certain speed (I cant remember if it was 95-105mph) and there were lines on the road then you would get flashed regardless of whether there was a speed limit on the gantry or not.

Whether or not this is true I have no idea...

Squeaky bum time OP, 110 is rather silly in an area like that!

Just in time for a tasty 150% of your weekly income fine too. Is the fine based on gross or net?

The Hadecs cameras are 24/7 active for whatever speed limit is currently applicable......temporary 40 or normal 70 eg.

I've seen them go off for others, never flashed me but then while I comfortably exceed 70 on the wider, quieter bits of the M25, I'm not daft enough to attempt 110...

I'm assuming I will have the ticket through within the next two week. I'll keep you updated how I get on. Serves me right I know........ I just get so frustrated travelling long distances with 3/4 the journey in roadworks with nothing happening!!! I even got to junction 21 to get into the m1 and nope it was closed!! Had to exit onto 21a hit the A405 down to junction 6 of the M1....... total nightmare journey!!!

I got flashed by the Hadecs ones on the Clacket lane stretch about a year ago, it was past midnight and at a high speed and never heard anything, I drove at the prescribed limit for a good 6 months after and panicked everytime the postman came, now on the motorway i'm much more aware of the cameras

😂 I never read your username. Hopefully you are fine and don't hear anything more about it.
