Raleigh are bringing back the Burner (Aero Pro Team) as a limited edition - https://www.raleigh.co.uk/team-aero-pro-burner

350 of them being made at 500 quid a piece.

Tempted - it sounds a much better spec than the 25 year edition they brought out before. Missus will probably kill me though and I'll probably break my wrists / collar bone etc. Plus there's the whole thing about a 32 year old looking a bit dodgy on a BMX.

But it's something I've been after since I was a kid and reading about Andy Ruffell etc in the Raleigh BMX annual I had in the 80s... scratchchin

I am pre registered and deciding on whether I will try and get lucky on the 19th. Was going to stick it in the loft if I get one.

I don't see the attraction. They weren't something to be seen on back in the day, it'd be like reissuing the Austin Allegro confused

The Aero Pro Burner was the only good bike in the range, not to be confused with the Scaffold Burner everybody else ended up with.

Ruffell only rode a Raleigh for one season, before buggering off back to mongoose.

I'd bet that precisely 'none' of these ever actually get ridden, they are destined for middle age man caves, and to be honest that's the best place for them, they are to the same angles as the original so will ride terrible compared to the worst new bike, but they will be changing hands over list for a while so not a bad investment if you are into that sort of thing and get lucky with the raffle for order spots.

From a 44 year old that still rides a BMX every week.paperbag

^ This. I wouldn't have said Austin Allegro, more Escort XR3.

When eveeyone had 911 turbo, Lambourghini Countach and Ferrari Testarossa on their walls.

Not sure if the Skyway has ever been re-issued in the original geometry, but it's certainly been reissued 'updated'.

The Haro has been 're-issued' a few times, in old and new geometry, latest version actually uses current bike dimensions so is much more ridable than it ever was.

Complete Skyway package is https://www.planetbmx.com/shop/skyway-t/a-frameset... which looks great value at $800-900.

They also have the Haro Freestyler Master frame so sure you could put one of those together.

I remember having a raleigh bmx type bike as a hand me down as a kid. loved it. Got laughed at when I brought it into primary school to get the police to put a reg on it as it was a girls bike. didnt bother me. how much were these new? £500 is steep!! looks beautiful though. which they still made bikes with simple designs like this.

Single speed rigid mountain bike perhaps?

Was more referring to the cosmetic styling/colouring/fonts of the bike.

The Team Aero Pro Burner at £500 is actually quite good value.

An Ultra Burner was £169.99 in 1984/85 which is circa £502-527 at today's prices.
