The "what bike bits have you just bought" thread Vol 2
Discussion
Replaced the white pedals with the same again but yellow.
Replaced the bearings in the front hub as it had some play and was a bit grindy.
Bought some Hope Tech 3 V4 brakes front and back in black. The old Hope brakes being red really clashed with the rest of the bike. These are considerably more powerful though, at the expense of about 36g.
Randomly I found 6 rotor, 4xM5 and 2xM4 titanium bolts when going through a box in the attic where I keep all my old bike gear, so fitted those in various places.

Went in to my LBS to buy some degreaser - £18!!! No wonder everyone else uses "online"!
BiltHamber does an Ace degreaser. Dilutable with water so a strong as it needs to be. Edit, called Surfex https://www.bilthamber.com/surfex-hd
I’ve just received my ‘velo sock’ which I bought online on Wednesday. It’s a bloody fantastic idea. Essentially a big stretchy sock, which you stretch over the bike, and turns it into ‘luggage’ without having to dismantle anything. It’s also got a secondary use ( which I’m not sure even the inventor envisioned) you can use it as a bivvy bag. I fit in it nicely . The guy behind it seems like a top bloke as well, he sent me a personal email, explaining what his idea was, after I’d ordered it
I’ve just received some more bits I ordered yesterday. It’s a riv nut setter, and various riv nuts, and a new bottle cage, to replace the one that parted company with my bike at the weekend, leaving me with only one bottle, in the middle of an 85 mile ride, in 33 degree heat . The riv nut tool and riv nuts, are to replace the ones that I had to dremmel out of a frame last week.

I've seen the adverts floating around on Facebook, and thought it looked like an interesting idea. Good to have someone else take the plunge first!Johnny said:
