I've been out in them a couple of times. Obviously I can't tell the difference, but they fitted well, and the sticky pads around the top kept them in place. They've washed well on a normal 40 degree wash, and were properly filthy when they went in.
I'll have to try and find a pair of regular sale comparisons to check the quality, but I think they're fine. For £3.30 a pair, you can't really complain.
Still, aero socks!!
Just purchased about 15 things from Halfords for the commute to work.
All bottoms and tops for cycling £5.
Purchased some Altura tops and padded shorts and leggings. Bargain. Also picked up their Boardman shorts and bib shorts and jerseys. Enough to cycle to work and back all week and keep a spare in my bag in case they don’t dry.
Then an Altura and one Boardman rain coat for £10 each.
I did pick up another brand called Ridge (their cheaper brand I think) not sure how good they’ll be but for £5 it’s not the end of the world but the Boardman and other stuff seems good enough. Still had plenty in and is National in case anyone is interested.

Nice bikes and all that but there is a separate thread for whole bike pics.

Whoops, so there is! Forgot about that one.https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
The Vitus Hardtail I was after as a winter / family bike came into stock this week so I snapped one up in the cycle to work scheme.
I’ve not been able to resist getting a few other bits too...Burgtec bars, saddle and composite pedals, AMS frame protection kit and a bottle cage. They’re all waiting patiently for the bike to turn up.

Out of interest, are you intending to use an app with it?
I have one sat in the garage unused at the moment...in the next few weeks there'll be enough space to use it so want to get it set up. And am thinking it needs an app to make it interesting.
Yes, I've been using Zwift, on my laptop with it. Works well. I have one sat in the garage unused at the moment...in the next few weeks there'll be enough space to use it so want to get it set up. And am thinking it needs an app to make it interesting.

Just picked these up for the commute. Thinking I should have spent the extra on the artic ones though. Northwave Raptot GTX.
These are meant to be good down to -3. Not tried them yet though. Not sure whether it’s wot he waiting for Black Friday?
My pair from a few years ago are starting to show their age. One of the eyelets the drawstring runs though (different design to above) has popped. These are meant to be good down to -3. Not tried them yet though. Not sure whether it’s wot he waiting for Black Friday?
I'll be keep an eye out over Black Friday, but I suspect winter boots are best bought in the June heatwaves, not the depths of winter.

I'm not hoping too much for anything in winter, suspect demand is higher, but first time commuting in winter so didn't think ahead.

Don't worry that you've over paid, maybe you have, maybe you haven't.I'm not hoping too much for anything in winter, suspect demand is higher, but first time commuting in winter so didn't think ahead.
It's difficult to put a price on warm, comfortable feet. Even if you've over paid by £20, that's £1 a commuting day, for a month. It's worth it.

True very true.
I paid £130, was hoping for the artic versions but they're about £170. Just an excuse to buy more at a later point.
I've got the same, never had cold feet and commute all year. For the wettest days I've some leg warmers from Aldi where the shin is waterproof, even on the wettest days my feet have been dry as water running down your leg onto the neoprene is the weak spot.I paid £130, was hoping for the artic versions but they're about £170.
