I 'ave just purchased a Park Tool DAG 2.2 alignment tool. Think this will be useful because I'm doing up a lot of bikes.
I bought one a few years ago. Brilliantly simple and horribly expensive - the number of people who have found out... it's amazing. The single most "famous" tool in my collection. It's the, "Hi - I hear you can straighten hangers. Would you mind...?" question I get at least once a week at the moment (cycling season).Had a refund late last night. The Dag 2.2 had been removed from stock, apparently. Quite annoying.
However, I went elsewhere and found the Dag 3 available for about 20 quid more, so I commited to that and it should be here tomorrow.
Expensive tool, but it should be very useful for me and because its Park, last a good while.

Despite being a 6'4" lanky git, I'm narrow, so having improved/corrected the reach on my new bike, I've suddenly realised just how wide the bars are on my XL frame... I had it in my head they were 44cm, but they're actually 46cm, plus noticeable gravel-fashion-victim flare on the drops.
My old bike has 42cm bars on, which I never really thought much about either way, and a tape measure suggested 40cm for my shoulders. Going from 44 to maybe 42 didn't seem worth changing, but 46 down to 40 is a solid inch+ in on each side
I'm only 6ft2 but can't even imagine riding 42cm again. 46 feels ace My old bike has 42cm bars on, which I never really thought much about either way, and a tape measure suggested 40cm for my shoulders. Went out for a quick ride tonight without bar tape... I've rotated the hoods a little outwards from the original point as a result (less toe-in, not toe-out at all), but first impressions are that although the bike is obviously sort of more twitchy to inputs, it actually feels more stable in general as my arms much less locked outwards. The moves from hoods to drops and back are far better - they just happen, instead of feeling like they need time and planning.
It will still need a little extra padding at the front of the tops before I wrap them, and possibly on the drops.
I think it was definitely a move in the right direction for me

If anyone is keeping track, I tried the Oakley helmet too, and it was indeed a fraction too small. It was a better head shape than the Planet X version, but the rear was rubbing on the back of my head even when stood up in the kitchen, never mind a TT position.
They've both gone back, and I think a Giro Aerohead is the next one to try.
W have success! Not only does it fit like a glove, but it was delivered, tried on, adjusted and put into the garage all whilst the wife was out picking the kids up from school. They've both gone back, and I think a Giro Aerohead is the next one to try.

I tried to order a Wahoo earlier in the week but my payment never went through which gave me time for a change of heart.
I really like Google maps but I didn't want to use my old Pixel 2XL because the battery wouldn't last a whole day of bike-packing (which is my intention for August) however when you deduct the cost of a Wahoo from the cost of a new Pixel 5, it made more sense to buy the phone So I have.
... and a load of Quadlock accessories.
I switched to QL few weeks ago, and I'm very happy. It's pretty pricey, but I think it's good kit.I really like Google maps but I didn't want to use my old Pixel 2XL because the battery wouldn't last a whole day of bike-packing (which is my intention for August) however when you deduct the cost of a Wahoo from the cost of a new Pixel 5, it made more sense to buy the phone So I have.

I bought 2 holders for my bikes, the phone case (of course), the rubber phone cover thingy, and a car mount for my Fiesta.

When I look at the box, it reminds me of this:
I have also bought a pipe wrench. The stupid Tri Diamond freewheels on the cheap bikes I bought are so badly machined that my freewheel removal tool doesn't fit into the splined bit. Therefore, I'm having to destructively remove them. I've got the lock nut and the cogs off, just need a good wrench now to get the freewheel itself off.

Been tempted myself. I currently have one on my bike that you close around it tight, however my Pixel 4XL did come out one day and smashed the screen.I bought 2 holders for my bikes, the phone case (of course), the rubber phone cover thingy, and a car mount for my Fiesta.
I'd like to be able to switch between Car, Bike, Motorbike and have them secure. But when not using have a slim gel case as I hate bulky cases.

I ordered the "out front" bracket but I've worked out I can actually mount it backwards, which might work to both protect it and put it more where I'd want it anyway. I'll experiment when it turns up (tomorrow, I think).

Enduro ceramic bearings for my crappy zipp wheels.
Are Zipp hubs that bad?I'm kinda hankering after a pair of the their new gravel wheels, but one thing putting me off is moving away from my adored Hope hubs...

Problem with the ceramics were the cost, ironic considering they are not much more expensive than NTN. The enduro ceramics were the best at watt savings or something. I bought them because they are well liked in the mtb world for durability.
Mine rusted and one actually seized over about 2 months of winter use. I replaced one bearing but haven't got round to doing the others yet.
Road bikes are a joke really. I'll probably have my firecrest 303 wheels built up on some decent mtb hubs someday. Hopes or Nukeproof with high engagement

How'd'you like?
I have the same as the analogue ride.
It’s really much better than I’d hoped. I need to lose the reflectors and dork disc, but it’s certainly going to do the job I bought it for, and a lot more.I have the same as the analogue ride.

“ VALUE
In a word the B'Twin Riverside 920 offers outstanding value for money. It's so versatile, and even compatible with a child seat, rear pannier rack and mudguards. It's high level of components will be hard, if not impossible to match else where and means that the bike is ready to roll straight from the shop.”
I agree.
