Garmin radar light down to 115 on Amazon.
Way better than the Cycliq rear camera thing I bought- total crap. Been replaced once and still doesn’t work, and when it did, the battery life was very short. Nice idea, atrocious product, sadly.

No pictures as it hasn't arrived yet, but I succumbed to the call of a Garmin and bought an Edge 130 Plus in the Amazon sale. It will replace my wildly inaccurate Cateye wired speedo thing.

Have a horrible feeling that it is the beginning of a slippery slope into cycle tech, as i've started eyeing up power meters now laugh
I have an Edge 130 Plus, for its size (and price) it’s absolutely brilliant. Even the route guidance is OK albeit on a tiny screen.

Anyone still running 26 inch wheels?

I have two brand new Schwalbe Black Jack, and a lightly used Specialized Purgatory going spare, plus about 10 or more brand new inner tubes!

Would anyone like them? They’re free! Collection from Swindon.

I bought the Cycliq front and rear. I so desperately want to think they’re not crap..but they are.

- The customer service is shocking (ordered in October, arrived, separately, in July)
- There’s no function to send video files directly to the app, it has to be taken from the micro SD card
- It’s hit and miss whether plugging the front light I’m charges or discharges the battery
- The sealing on the rear is so bad that it fogged up in the time it took me to get from rain starting to finding shelter (maybe 200m of wet road). Everyone I know says if it’s even slightly likely to rain, wrap a section of inner tube around the unit.
-The battery life is rubbish (I run mine lights-off with a separate rear light, which rather defeats the object. The front is LT good enough to see by at night so I don’t use it)
- Their mailing list is just spamming of ‘look at this idiot driver’ and ‘we were nearly killed’ videos every day. As though that’s what I want to see before going on a ride?

All in, I think there are better uses of the about 350 quid they cost. Maybe I’ll change my tune if I have an incident and I’m lucky enough for them to have actually worked…

The Varia on the other hand - I was sceptical but I only hear good things so I’m going to grab one for my TT bike.

Hi Keith, word for word the same experience here! A real shame. (Well, word for word except I didn’t buy the front camera)

Managed to get a few of the items from the Rapha x Palace release today. Rapha’s website was a clusterfk (as it always is for this kind of stuff) so just went to Palace’s which sold out very quickly but didn’t have a stupid queuing system.

I got caught in that too, but didn’t realise you could buy from Palace too.

Ended up with a pair of these….which unlike 90% of the purchases won’t end up on eBay with a 4x mark up mad

They'll go great with your inflatable rainbow unicorn pool toy.

The grey training too was really what I was after….sadly missed out and I’m not prepared to pay that much over the odds…

I succumbed to an Edge 530 on Amazon. I had a £20 voucher kicking round so paid £140. Looking forward to trying it next week.

I got the crocs (I have always hated crocs, yet, here we are…), the race jersey and the zip off technical pants in “isn’t that a bit embarrassing at your age?” pink.

Well I've finally given in and ordered some new tyres for my road bike and some wax chain lube for all the bikes in the garage...

Gone for the Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres, tan wall, 700x25c instead of my usual Continental GP 4Seasons rubber. Hope those work out OK.
Also "bit the bullet" and quit whining about the cost of 'Squirt Lube'. Yes, it's a lot of money for some chain lube, but it is a workshop sized pack so it should last for a long time, even with 4 bikes to look after.

I’ve installed the Smart Bike Lights Connect IQ app in which you can configure it as a brake light (measures deceleration) and between sunrise and sunset it is off until it senses a car when it starts flashing, between sunset and sunrise (time taken from may Garmin 530 automatically) it automatically goes into permanent flashing mode, cleaver stuff!
I don’t know why you need a 3rd party app to configure the brake light function if it has an accelerometer built into it.
The radar function is that good I’m starting to rely on it which you’re obviously not supposed to do!

Inner tubes. Lots of them. Not as exciting as many of the items posted on here, but essential all the same.
