I bought myself a new hanger alignment tool to replace the one that someone permaborrowed, it’s a park tools number and looks very well made. Whilst I was at it I got a new 11 speed cassette, and a Jagwire ‘Elite’ road brake cable set, which is a bit blingy, but I quite like it.

One of these arrived yesterday, direct from the UK distributor at a very reasonable 40% discount.

I think I can live with it being “last” year’s model (2018)

It’s my first non-Orange branded MTB since 1992.... laugh

Wahoo speed and Cadence sensor for me. All I need now is either a turbo trainer or a set of rollers and I can sign up for Zwift.

The DAG2.2? If so, bloody excellent tool. Whenever I have any indexing issues (I fix a lot of bikes for my kids' schools, and for neighbours, friends and family), I always start with that. 9 times out of 10, that's the reason there's a problem.

If serious, yes I have. Will be around your neck of the woods tomorrow food shopping in Camberley. Let me know if you want it.

Geezus! That's about 3 years worth of lube.

Not entirely serious, just trying to wind GOATever up a little.

I do have an old steel frame that needs the (non-removable) mech "hanger" bending back, but my local bike shop have advised me not to do it without heat, and they "don't do repairs involving frame heating". Plus the bike is old, and heavy, and not the greatest fit for me, so I'm probably only keeping it because I've become attached to it in some pathetic emotional way (it was the first brand-new bike I ever had).

In better news (and more in keeping with the thread title) I've bought a front mech gear cable. And also paid the labour to have the shop fit it for me. So my Trek Emonda is now back on the road for the first time since the 29th of January this year!!! Job done for £16.99 all-in, and to have someone else do it to save me from cold fingers in a cold damp garage seemed like a bargain in the end...

..although I can attest their dry lube smells rather nice so I probably use it a bit more than I need too.

Thats a damn nice haul there - Crank Brothers pedals too... very nice

Yes indeed. It’s a really nice bit of kit.

New wee doodad as a christmas present for myself.

I am a bit of a tool nerd so when I saw this I had to pick it up: Syncros Matchbox Tailer HV1.5. Bottle cage, with pump holder and small integrated toolkit with chain tool and various allen keys.

Great sturdy bottle cage, I've used a couple of the allen keys already and the little tool is a good design.

Some nice cheap changes, an Aldi saddle bag which is just perfect for a tube, levers and multi tool and my 3D printed pump clip for the seat post (don’t like them mounted near the bottle cage).

Got out for a quick 20k in the new Le Col thermal bib tights yesterday. Bloody lovely things, super warm. Great pad. Very happy with them.

My Spatz arrived today, typically on a rare day when I didn’t ride in

First impressions say in the office - comfy and toasty AF. Looking forward to getting them out and about.
Interested to know how these really perform in the wet? Sick of any overshoe i’ve tried... never waterproof.

Always said I would never get a skin suit. Over Christmas decided I needed something a bit close fitting and warm and got a Castelli Sanremo thermosuit. Brilliant if not expensive. Awkward to put on and out of the saddle but in motion perfect.

Not sure whether it was a mental thing but felt quicker. Almost looking forward to the colder rides now.
