I've just bought a set of XT brakes, to replace the Deore brakes on my Orange. And a new shifter as it is the wrong I-spec type rolleyes Deore brakes will be going onto my hardtail to replace the Tekro brakes that are on there.
I decided that as I was moving the brakes from my full suss to my hardtail that it would also make sense to move the 180mm rotors over, as the goal is to increase stopping power.

This meant I had to buy new rotors (and adaptors) for my full suss bike. I also noticed that the front lever and rear calliper I moved across were leaking slightly, so I've ordered an SLX front brake and will make one good read brake from the parts I have left over. I also had to buy some olives/barbs, as I expect I will be shortening hoses.

I've also bought a new helmet for my little boy, as the adjustment mechanism on the Giro Tremor he had broke after a few weeks. This time I have gone for a Bell Spark, which is probably a better helmet and has MIPS.

Not quite bought but pre-ordered:

https://www.tredz.co.uk/.Shimano-GRX600-11-Speed-G...

11-speed, 46/30 chainset. Perfect for my gravel/long distance bike. It'll give me a bottom gear of 30/36, which, even as a tubby wobbler, will give me enough to spin up most hills rather than having to get out of the saddle.

Moose - how are you finding the Wheelsmith dimpled wheels? I really fancy a set on my next build.

Also interested as I fancy a set with the DT Swiss hubs

Synapse with Di2? Looks very similar to mine - I've got a set of wheels from David at DCR (50mm carbon rims & DT 350 hubs) on mine.

What's the weight and price on those if you don't mind me asking?

Not at all, I just need to remember where I wrote the figures down when I got them! I'll have a look later...

I had the option of DT 240 hubs but decided £200 extra to save 100g (IIRC) couldn't be justified. I also went with J-bend CX-Ray spokes rather than straight pull on the basis a LBS is more likely to have J-bends in-stock to fix a broken spoke. I think the SPs saved a tiny bit more weight.

I know everyone will say their particular wheels are the best, but.....

Have had the rim brake version of these for about 10,000 miles and they have been bloody brilliant - not needed a single thing doing to them. They're strong, pickup speed well, don't get affected by sidewinds and are reasonably light. Talk to Derek at Wheelsmith and he'll recommend a setup suitable for you, your riding (and your pocket).

When I got my new bike with discs it was a no brainer to get the disc version - and I treated myself to some Chris King hubs while I was at it. I can't fault them.

Spot on - the wheels it came with were ste compared with the quality of the rest of the bike!

I hope you post up a review. I have a 46/30 FSA crankset on my Topstone and whilst it doesn't need upgrading for a while, I've heard it weighs a tonne so I'm tempted by the GRX.

My Yari forks refused to extend to their full travel and it turns out this was due to the stanchions being scratched quite badly. So I decided to upgrade/save them with a Vorsprung Smashpot conversion. Very impressed so far.

New wheels went for 35mm as I only ever ride on the coast and it can get damn windy so steered clear of the 50mm ones. They make a wonderful freewheel noise.

£70 delivered from the Netherlands in two days. That's great service. Now to see if they're a bugger to fit.

I just got some Raw brand mudflap extensions for the mudguards on my "utility"/commuter bike.

I'm still amusing myself with the term "raw flaps".

Conti cross tubes (with removable cores so I can chuck some sealant in), because I can't justify paying out for a tubeless wheelset for the CX bike (for now).
