Bought a new saddle for my road bike, Charge Spoon after reading all the good reviews thought it would be worth a try to see if I got on with it or not, turns out it's fantastic, did 5 hours on it on Sunday, feels great compared to the old 'cheap as we can find' one that came on the bike from new.

A waterproof onesie eek

Quoting myself to say I tried the onesie out yesterday in the torrential rain we’ve been having and it’s superb. Kept me dry and no need to worry about the spray or cold getting up my back. It dried out quickly once the rain stopped and the hood was useful too. Thoroughly recommended and I didn’t even feel that much of a muppet wearing it wink
I love mine even if I look like a 6 year old, my wife does say I am 61 going on 6 when I am out on my MTB LOL

Cero RC35 carbon clinchers. Under 1300gm the pair. Set them up tubeless with Schwalbe Pro One tyres (really easy, sealed instantly).
Hopefully first ride this Saturday if my cold clears!

Shimano hydraulics to replace the crappy TRP Spyres on my CX bike. For £225 I think it'll be worthwhile upgrade.

Chinesium integrated bars. Seems decent quality at first inspection. Di2 bar-end junction box *almost* fits, I think it'll need a slight go with the Dremel.

Yeah, great bit of kit. Probably the best piece of cycling clothing I’ve purchased, alongside my Northwave winter boots.

Budget creep? Sounds more like wholesale budget demolition!

A new set of 'Allen' keys. They were a Fathers Day gift, but you know, had to buy them myself.

That sums it up well, yes.

Just bought a new electric MTB and I really do need to be able to drop the seat, so a dropper post ordered.
Blimey they are expensive, although these...

https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/brand-x-ascend...

get very good reviews, created a new account and got a tenner off so a mere £89. I needed external routing for the Haibike.
I will report back on my views.

Absolute Black 46/30 chainset to help with recovery from second knee replacement 5 weeks ago. (Managed 30 miles yesterday on old chainset but that was over-doing things so paid for it with more pain today.) Nicely engineered but may have to Dremel front derailleur mounting bracket to get the FD close enough to the teeth.

Will take the opportunity to replace the bottom bracket. After 15,000 miles it should be shot but still isn't complaining much.

Will be interested to see how you find them. I've use ToSeek standard carbon bars and after 2 years they're showing minor cracking around the stem attachment mount. Possibly caused by reassembling at an airport without torque wrench. Hopefully the integrated bar + stem design should be robust.

A pair of Northwave shorts for the missus, a Knog Oi for me (fed up not having a bell, lots more cycle paths here than in UK), and a pair of Castelli Quattros to get free shipping angel

I am sure you will love them although be prepared for a bit of a faff setting the front mech up , I found mine to be more sensitive to the mech setting than round chain-rings plus the change can take a bit longer.

I am old, 61, and trying to preserve what I have left in my body and , although I don't make more power like some folk claim, there is definitely less stress on my knees. I put an oval chain-ring on my MTB and the extra smoothness of the pedal stroke really helps maintain grip on the technical climbs.

Do let us know how you get on!!

I found my local Decathlon last night while shopping for curtains and table place mats (rock'n'roll, I know!).

I bought a couple of Continental Grand Prix 4000S II tyres (£29.99 each), and...

A multi-tool in a silicon pouch... https://www.decathlon.co.uk/920-bike-multitool-id_... ...at £12.99

Possibly not ideal for a weight-weenie road rider, but looks great for extended days on the gravel or MTB where weight/bulk isn't such an issue. Proper Allen keys, and lots of the essentials all in one package, instead of me scrabbling around at the bottom of a backpack for loose items. Replacing a Topeak set which is missing the chain breaker pin and is far bulkier than this one

A 'quick-link' pliers... https://www.decathlon.co.uk/quick-release-chain-to... ...at £7.99

I've been meaning to get one of these for a while to make life easier splitting a chain link on a dirty chain, as it's difficult with fingers and still a pain with a normal needle-nose pliers

A new chain splitter... https://www.decathlon.co.uk/900-bike-chain-tool-id... ...at £9.99

I've lost my main chain splitter in my house move (and the pin was no longer straight anyway), and quick-links are only really of any use if you are fitting them to a chain that is the correct length already

All pretty good prices, and the tools look to be decent quality on the display cards. Remains to be seen how good they are in use though, as my bicycles are still locked up in my brother-in-law's garage while I'm busy with DIY in the new house...

Some parts for my new bike, which I am hoping will arrive soon...

SRAM Force AXS 10-33 Cassette
SRAM AXS Power Meter Spider

Just need some new speedplay pedals

No sure what to do with the 10-28 cassette that comes on the bike. I will never use it so it will probably end up gathering dust in the garage
