It's getting sent straight from Canyon, and whilst I could pick it up, I want all perfectly set for me before I use it in anger.

He's also fitting my power meter, removing a chain link to fit a wippermann link for me, swapping the cassette for an 11-30T (I've some steep climbs near me!).... That's all stuff I could do myself (power meter aside, perhaps) but I want it fitted right smile hopefully he can get me in Friday or Saturday but it depends whether he can get the bits fitted before then.

Bike looks great... ultimate attention to detail would be the protone in the black and red :-)
Don’t start me off on that one... I had a Cannondale Supersix and Giant TCR in black and white hence the black and white protone! The canyon was actually bit of an impulse buy shortly after selling a car - the Mrs cock blocked getting a new helmet too!!
Ha ha.. I see! I’ve somehow explained away a load of wiggle packages this year. Also somehow greased the cogs to getting a new set of wheels without too much complaint. But still no where near a new top end canyon and new kit kit also.

Helmet can wait :-)

UPS now delivery for today! Irritatingly though, my bike fitter isn't in today! I called UPS to try to rearrange and they said it's already loaded and out for delivery but said they'd leave a delivery notice and then they'd try to deliver again tomorrow instead....so that's fine (didn't want to have to go and collect it from somewhere!)

Bike fitter said he'd try to have the bike ready for Friday...so if I'm lucky I may have it Friday biggrin

Yep, it's been delivered! Although it's gone straight to my bike fitter (who is fitting power meter and a fee other bits before my appointment Friday, so I won't see it until Friday afternoon!)

Excited!

Edit - I'm really intrigued to see how it feels compared to my current bike. It's a 2011 Bianchi Infinito, it's too big for me so despite being slammed to the max, having the correct saddle height means I've got only approx a 1cm drop from saddle to bars!

Going from an often problematic Shimano 105 10 speed to the latest R8070 Ultegra Di2. Going from rim brakes to discs. Much uprated frame of course, much better wheels (I've got Shimano RS80 wheels on there now with a 24mm depth. It might feel a bit weird to start with! Thoughts?!

It will certainly feel completely different- hopefully in a good way once you've adjusted to a more normal amount of saddle/bar drop.

One drawback of the aerocockpit is that you have no easy way to change reach, bar width, angle or shape. So your fitter can't really do much beyond bar and saddle height and saddle fore/aft.

Canyon will swap them if you make a fuss. Just expect it to take a year or two.

Well....I've got it back home biggrin

We've set the same saddle height as my old bike but the drop from the saddle to bars is around 8-9cm, and it feels a LOT more aero! Not ridden it outdoors yet, just on the TT but it does feel pretty wonderful. DI2 is absolutely great too, such crisp shifting!! It also means shifting from the inner to the outer chainring can be done whilst in the drops, something I couldn't do before because the lever required quite a lot of force to change up.

It's currently charging biggrin Once done, I'll plug it into my laptop and sort out what shift modes I want.

I'm bloody impressed with the weight as well, it feels very light for an aero bike with deep rims and discs!

Can someone who has one please advise me on how to pump the tyres up?! They seem to come with black tubes in place, and in the box appear to be valve extenders, but I can't see how the valve extenders go on!?

I needed to take 10mm off the stem on my Endurace.

I contacted Canyon via the web chat on their website and two days later a courier appeared with the new stem.

I was given two weeks to trial it, then returned the old one for a refund.

No more hastle than making umpteen trips to my LBS or ordering parts on line

The extenders are a pain in the arse... unscrew the valve, screw the black extenders over the top and then plug your pump on the end of the extender...

Had the same WTF with the extenders on the wheels on the Endurace i bought. Most simple solution was to bin the supplied inner tubes and replace with new ones with the correct valve length (always buy continental inner tubes these days as they seem to hold pressure much better than other brands)

Thanks guys, I figured I could pump it up with the extenders on, but my pump doesn't like them and doesn't give me a pressure reading....! So yes, I will bin the tubes at some point and fit long valve inners instead.

Bike is absolutely awesome! Love the di2! I cannot believe how light it is for this type of bike, too!
