I'm not sure if too many high end road bikes ever go on the 2nd hand market, do they? I suspect when the time eventually comes it'll just be relegated to a spare bike.
My old bike will just become my winter/bad weather/commuting bike now to be honest.
Likewise. Every few years you just have to dump the worse one to keep the Mrs happy...My old bike will just become my winter/bad weather/commuting bike now to be honest.
I keep an eye on eBay etc and dont see many coming up tbf - although there is a red medium on there at the mo...
Nice bike
I’ve had mine a year now and covered 6,000 miles on it and I love it, one of my best purchases.
The only issue I had was the seat tube sliding down on an early ride because I hadn’t tightened the bolt enough.

In fact I've just tried that. Fortunately the seat rails have 1mm incremental measurements on them, so I just noted what it was before.... I've actually moved it forward 1cm and I think it feels better. I think he set it up with the same fore/aft as the last bike but I think where I'm effectively leaning further forwards I have shifted my hips forwards a bit too... So saddle needs to come with! Will see how it feels later. I'm tempted to buy a saddle with a channel like before.... But will see how it goes!
I'm tempted to buy this in black 130mm width

I've got a selle smp stratos on my bianchi which I get on really well with. Unfortunately it's no longer available it would appear! But that one looks good. I've texted my bike fitter and will see what he thinks! My SMP stratos on my other bike is 131mm wide so that's basically the same.
May just order it now anyway....if it doesn't suit I can always return it
An SMP Stratos you say? I wonder who has a very lightly used red one that is too narrow for him and that would be glad to see it go to a good home?I'm tempted to buy this in black 130mm width

Wish I'd have known that yesterday!
Having said that.... The new saddle arrived today and decided to fit it myself..... I've basically moved it as far forwards as possible and as low an angle as possible (there doesn't seem to be a great deal of scope with the Canyon seat post) and, admittedly after only a 5min test, it does feel noticeably more comfortable.
Had a play around with how far forward/back the saddle was on the rails and of it wasn't quite far forward to get comfortable on the saddle meant my body was too far back so my legs were too far forwards for pedaling comfortably! So I've moved it almost as far as possible and..... Touch wood..... It feels good! Noticeably less perineal pressure and it's not too wide either. Not riding tomorrow but will be doing so on Wednesday. If it doesn't work out well I'll see if I can send it back and then I'll be in touch!
Cheers.

Good lad... im a full red and black Castelli wker now - got a couple Perfetto tops in Red and Black! Edited by SDK on Monday 8th January 21:47
Funny you say that about the seat post. I was in a group of 4 absolutely blasting along at 30mph trying to take a popular KOM in the area until I hit a drain cover and my saddle slipped right down onto the frame! It was hilarious - looked like I was sat on a kids bike! I couldn't get it to stay in place without more Carbon grease so had to ride 10miles home out of the saddle!

Just out of question, how much would you want for it?
What are lightlyused ones worth? New ones are about £160 iircI'll see if this new saddle sorts me out, if not I'm definitely interested. Pity it isn't black though!

Blimey they've gone up. I just checked my wiggle order from June 2015 for my last one and paid £127.87....maybe it was on offer or something.

£145 at CRC and £146 at Merlin and £141 at Lordgun (in Italy)I'll see if this new saddle sorts me out, if not I'm definitely interested. Pity it isn't black though!
I can't remember how much I paid for it, but I spent a lot of time looking for a red one for the bike it went on. Since replaced with a red SMP Pro (which is the correct size for me)
Let me know if you do want it. I am quite sure we can make it work.
Just been to the bike fitter, we moved saddle forwards, tilted down 4 degrees (the part of the seat post to allow angle changes had seized.... I thought it didn't allow much scope!) and raised it 3mm.....much more comfortable!
Don't think I'll need the SMP now but appreciate the offer will see how I get on over the next week or so.

How is your knee over pedal position looking after slamming the saddle so far forwards?
Should only really be moving fore/aft to affect that position, not account for reach issues or saddle discomfort, having the saddle that far forwards and pointing down starts to look like a sizing issue tbh.
Also a seized seat post adjuster on a new bike?!

Knee fore/aft is now spot on. There is still scope for moving the saddle further forward, but I don't think it's really required. The reach to hoods and drops is absolutely spot on and feels just so "right".
The saddle is not pointing down.... The shape of the saddle tilts up a bit near the nose, so having the rails the same angle as the last saddle meant it was tilted up by about 6 degrees, it's now tilted up just 1-2 degrees which is absolutely fine.
It wasn't seized as such.... Just needed a bit of a shove.... Something I wasn't willing to risk
Definitely not a size issue. Canyon recommended a frame size bigger. Based on my stats, but bike fitter recommended smaller size..... Glad we did, it now feels absolutely perfect!
