Thanks I'm glad I waited as it will come with the latest R8070 Ultegra which offers a bit more functionality over the older one and a much improved brake lever design which is far less bulky. If you see pics of the new one, vs the old one you can see just how much more bulky the old ones were, they curve up a lot more:

Fair enough. I'm rather excited to say the least! Not only is the bike going to be much better than my old bike (especially from shimano 105 5700 10 speed to ultegra di2!) but the bike will also just be a much better design and a lot more aero as the frame will actually be the correct size for me!! I was sold a frame 2 sizes too big (I knew no better at the time) so despite the stem being slammed and flipped I've got a 1cm drop from saddle to bars!
I'm sure it'll be much faster than my Bianchi Infinito from 2011!
I wonder how long it'll take to arrive. Obviously they'll be delays because of the bank holidays.... But I also assume that this may (??) be a quiet time of the year for them? In theory I could get it by the end of next week, but I suspect it'll be nearer the end of January. Getting shipped straight to my bike fitter anyway.
I wonder how much faster it'll be.... Obviously the frame and wheels are more aero but mainly I will be able to get into an aero position too. I'll see if I can upload a pic of my bike so you can see that it's almost set like a tourer!

It’s plain awesome. Smooth as you like, handles well and really holds the speed on the flat.
It also (not sure whether good or bad) attracts a LOT of attention as it looks really fancy in the flesh - be sure to lock it up and be asked umpteen questions about canyons.
As for speed it’s really hard to quantify in terms of outright average mph but where you will find immediate gains is braking! I doubt you’ve even considered it, but the discs will give you so much more confidence to barrel into corners and junctions and pull up late - it’s also nice to be able to do this with Just finger tip strength too...
Delivery. I had bad experiences with delivery - I’d personally try and forget it and let it arrive when it does.
However there is one problem with ownership! The bike is so smart you’ll have to ensure all your other gear is up to scratch! I’ve gone from a mix match of cheap gear to a full on red and black Castelli warrior!
Here are a few pics to get you excited...

Got an email this morning saying it's due to ship by the end of this week
Fingers crossed then! Mine still took 2 wks from this point - but they cocked mine up and I am still bitter! m444ttb said:
I really like those. To the extent where the worst thing I'd have to say about the aesthetics (as modern bikes go at least) are the silver centred discs don't look as good as the black Dura Ace items!
I know what you mean, I don't mind them to be honest. At least they're functional (ie better cooling than the previous models). I guess when they're done you could easily replace them with the Dura Ace discs?I got a message from Canyon today via facebook saying my bike should be shipped today and they've given me a UPS tracking number. They said when UPS collect it, it should have a scheduled delivery date.
That picture posted earlier of it in the Subway is absolutely awesome. Looks fantastic.
I see that the newest Aeroads (those shipped with the latest Ultegra like mine) have the updated Reynolds wheels, apparently 30% more efficient in aero around the 62mm section/dish....I wonder how these wheels compare to the equivalent Dura Ace C60 wheels with discs? The Dura Ace ones retails around £500 more, but I suspect you pay a fair bit for the name....The Reynolds are marginally lighter (35g) which is neither here nor there. I'd be interested to know which are the better wheelset! Maybe OKGO would know?
I am weary about using them on windy days though; I'm only about 55kgs so might get blown about a bit! So half of me thinks that I should invest in some nice wheels which are a bit less aero for windy days....or just use my old bike instead.

Agree about the discs - I thought they looked odd when I bought the bike. But in the flesh they are much duller and look awesome...
You are right to be worried about the wind. I am just under 90kg and still get thrown around quite a bit when its very windy - so at your weight you'll be sailing away somewhere... I keep meaning to get some other wheels so I can keep the reynolds for best (looking at the Hunt Aero Light V2 or Kysrium Elite Disc)
The reason you like the Graffiti tunnel pic is because you actually see the shape and details of the frame. From the Canyon images you only ever see the bike side on and its not until you get one in your kitchen that its actually sexy as hell all over! Cant wait to get on mine over the weekend...
p.s we ordered 2 bikes at the same time, (Ultimate and Aeroad) and both took just 2 days with UPS although UPS and Canyon quoted 3-4 days.

Bike looks great... ultimate attention to detail would be the protone in the black and red :-)
Don’t start me off on that one... I had a Cannondale Supersix and Giant TCR in black and white hence the black and white protone! The canyon was actually bit of an impulse buy shortly after selling a car - the Mrs cock blocked getting a new helmet too!! russy01 said:
