I am piking out on the basis of having to leave at 9am, mill around until 10:30 and then not getting back to the car until probably 4-4:30. Getting back home at almost 6pm is too long on the km/hr ratio.

Will probably entertain myself on the Farnborough Flyer which I have just found out about an that is a 20min cycle to the start and kicks of at 8:30am!

I am sure you will all have a good time!
I've independently come to the same conclusion. It took me 6 hours (moving time) to cover 72 miles (with 6,500 feet of climbing) this week. Plus Sunday would mean at least an hour in the car each way. So being out of the house for 8 hours or more on a day when my wife'll be stressed enough as it is being 'on call' was just too much time out of the day for me to be that far away.

I doubt I'll do the Farnborough Flyer, though, for the same reason. I should imagine I'll end up looking to do some more silly repeats of local climbs, as I've being doing for most of my rides this week.

To everyone who's going along on this ride - enjoy yourselves!

Hills are fun, after all, and it'l be even funerer if it's wet... wink

I'm pleased to say, the weather outlook is much better now so we should have a good ride. I'll bring some walkie-talkies for front/back markers, basic tools, spare wheels, track-pump and anything else I can think of. There will be a coffee and cake stop but it will be a good idea to carry some water/electrolyte and some bars or whatever you fuel with.

Perfect conditions this morning on much of the route. I rode 1200m of climbing this morning incorporating about 1/2 of the hills on your list and a few others.

Although more leaves have fallen in the last week, none of the hills were hampered by this at all. It was even a pleasure to ride Titsey, although I swear there are more badly repaired pot holes each time I ride it. rolleyes

I was in bib shorts and using the summer bike, a lot of other riders now seem to have switched to almost winter kit. If you are climbing you will likely over heat if you have too many layers.

Have a good ride tomorrow, I never signed up to attend as I will be at Brands for the BTCC final.

I will keep my eyes out for the PH crew tomorrow morning, I will be coming back from an early ride as you set off.

Good luck, guys and hope to catch up on another ride.

The ride got a little truncated, I had a spoke snap on the descent of Titsey, we rode a few minutes back to the car park to get a spare wheel, but I couldn't get the cassette off. It rained a little at that point and we decided to head to the pub and concentrate on the social aspect of the event!

Big thanks to SixpotBelly and richardxjr for a fun day out!

Hopefully we can pick another day soon which will have less of a sense of doom around the weather, though I'll leave proposing that to someone else, the route is ready to go.

Thanks for putting this together for all of us, IG. Was shaping up to be a great ride on a killer route. Looking forward to coming back and finishing it. Hopefully there'll be a better forecast next time too and fewer will cry off!
