Definitely going to try get hold of one for a test, would want to replace the Fox stuff with a Pike and Super Deluxe Ultimate

Well, I am not sure I have had a bike that’s had so much wow factor out of the box. I almost want to hang it on the wall and not ride it! And Photos compressed really don't do it justice either. One Happy Happy Boy!
I am not bloody surprised, it's beautiful. I am biased as I have an acoustic Mondy and yours was on my shortlist but eventually went for a Decoy. Is that your first emtb? Quick update on the wifes 'iffy' LIV. The bikeshop have advised me that the 'required' battery connection shim was ordered from Giant in Europe at the beginning of this month. From when we took it out a fortnight ago and it kept tripping out , the wife was pretty dismayed and wasnt watching the trail, clipped a sapling , which chucked her to the ground. She said she was just upset with the bike and she just didnt see anything . Well, the scabby knee from the roots she landed on are still there, but the whole of her knee went purple and black is now fading.
I found this thread and read about people suffering the same issues and we have had the lot, from not switching on, to not tripping out to tripping out every 1/4 mile.

Makes us feel better that there is information regarding the problem we have.I have re-adjusted again the battery and it is as tucked into the frame as I can get it. Its never fitted as well as it does now. Some say on the above thread that battery adjustment does / doesnt fix it and the shim does/ doesnt fix it also. We are awaiting a reply for the battery shim eta.
In the meantime, we hadnt tried the bike in anger for 2 weeks and the wife wanted to go out today and see if the adjustment had resolved it. Being off work, means I had been regulary trying it , by switching on and off and a spin down the road. It looks a clown bike its so small , so totally impossible for me to go on a proper ride out to test.
We had a ball on the bike today. Didnt do huge miles, but we both had bikes which didnt fail, which is a novelty. The LIV just worked and Mrs S was loving it.
My Cannondale didnt make a squeak, which is unusual, as currently destroying bottom bracket bearings on a weekly basis and these are decent ones at that ! I am removing the BB30 system next week as had enough of creaking and cracking noises and regular bearing changes . Yes, I am riding 125 plus mtb miles a week currently , which is more than its ever done, but going to sleeve the shell and fit a Chris King 24mm bottom bracket I have kicking around. The silence is golden when it is silent !!
We are venturing out again Tuesday , if the weather plays ball on both bikes and hope this adjustment hangs in there and becomes a permanent solution with the battery shim.
We are getting a towbar fitted to our XC60 in a couple of weeks, so we can hopefully 'reliably' venture further afield with the LIV and increase its use, wife's fitness and also go somewhere else to ride.

I had mine out for a nice 50km route of a local trail loop. I seriously love this thing. I tend to have it on 1 (of 3) to essentially offset the weight and knock it into 2 for hills.
Today it was around 32c and I kind of didn't drink enough so in the last 10k or so I was developing a headache from dehydration. Knocked it into Turbo mode and got home with no issues.
Was a lovely proper gravel trail mix and I love the flexibility of the bike to allow unfit buggers like me the ability to see the local area. Also it's really comfortable, 2 hours on the bike on gravel tracks and no aches or pains.
I have a bike rack coming (hopefully first half of this week) and I'm looking forward to exploring further afield with it
No bike pics but a couple of snaps from the ride:

Not ridden my eMTB since a quick run Saturday - to be evangelical to a pal who was the usual ‘what so its a bike ride where you don’t pedal?’
It utterly pissed it down half way round and even under a tree we were soaked to the skin.
He loved it, says let’s plan a long ride soon
It’s Monday7am , blowing like fk and gnarly out there
Still tempted to crack 20mile run before I open the home office up.....

Anyone else become aware of local bike thefts involving ebikes? The two I've seen reported in the last month both involved violence against the owner.
Unsure if they were targeted because of the value of the bike or just that ebikes are increasingly common.
It's not just an ebike thing. I am hearing about a lot of bikes being stolen recently. I've not heard about violence, but given their value it's not the biggest surprise. Unsure if they were targeted because of the value of the bike or just that ebikes are increasingly common.
A lot of the thefts have been from sheds or locks cut when the bike is left. There's still people leaving bikes outside shops unlocked.

That sucks, where is ‘local’ ?Unsure if they were targeted because of the value of the bike or just that ebikes are increasingly common.

I know bikes get stolen, but these instances weren't the usual from sheds or bike racks. Both instances the owners were quite shaken by the physical assault (though no ling term physical harm).A lot of the thefts have been from sheds or locks cut when the bike is left. Not a soul to be seen, Brutal winds, and Brent Alpha on the horizon in Teesport (awaits pedants)
There is simply no way in 'life before e-Bike' would this have been considered as something to do on a Monday morning in this minging weather

Here’s my recent purchase. I sold my old Scott Scale for good ££ a month ago. I was looking at slack hard tails, full suspension and ebikes. I’m glad I ended up with this. Brilliant fun and can really get about to see places I’d never manage on a conventional bike.

How much did all the kit cost you, if you don't mind saying?
I am just debating the benefits vs constraints of converting my existing (albeit budget) full suspension bike to electric.
Since lockdown I have revisited a number of hilly trails around the north downs on both foot and bike, but the extra help getting up some of the steep climbs is an attractive proposition.
My existing frame design doesn't leave a lot of space for a battery, but If I am only using it for steeper climes, I assume that is doable?
£295 for everything except the battery, from modds ebikes. batteries can go from £150 to 500, but the used ebike I bought for my mrs came with a second battery so I just used that. I have decided to wait until after lockdown and buy a couple of new ETB's then.
Until then, I will just have to continue getting off an pushing on the really steep tracks.

With that large rock, at least you'll know where you parked your bike. Do you carry it around with you for that reason?
I reckon I could tow it down with a rope and on boost. It’s a shame to hear about ebike thefts. I’ve put mine on the house insurance today. I live in a low crime area and i often see no one when I ride. Never say never though! PushedDover said:

I considered doing the commute this morning again, but the wind was horrific (I'm in the same area as you) and I had a full laptop bag. It promises to be much calmer tomorrow . . .There is simply no way in 'life before e-Bike' would this have been considered as something to do on a Monday morning in this minging weather
Think it’s just a sign of the times rather than anything e-mtb specific. I heard a story recently not too far from me of someone having their standard Halfords mtb stolen while they were riding back from work. Also a neighbour recently had their Chinese 125 stolen out the garage. Think there’s just a mentality of ‘if it’s not nailed down’ at the moment, and they’ll have anything that they can have a joyride about on or drop into cash converters for a quick £20.
I live on the very edge of suburbia (great for riding around the countryside, 5 mins and I’m in the middle of nowhere!) in what was always considered a nice area, lived here my entire 38 years, but the last 5 years or so seems to have got quite bad. And it’s not just local fb group ramblings. I know of more and more people personally who’ve had vans, cars, sheds, garages broken into, vehicles stolen, etc. All of my bikes are in the house now, just not worth leaving them in the shed and I’ve got no room in the garage to anchor them down.

Re bike thefts - it would be worth putting your bike's details on the https://www.immobilise.com register to increase your chances of getting it back if the worst happens. (The website is for any valuables, not just bikes, and was recommended to my by the police.)

Hi Nick, yeah it is....... and I love it! I have been out everyday bar saturday since it arrived, total convert, laps laps laps.... everywhere. And on top of this, I was concerned getting a bike I had not ridden before, I had no need to worry! What a thing, we are getting on great, I have just spent the evening throwing it around on the trails! Re sheds - a wooden shed is basically unsecured, putting a poxy padlock on it isn’t going to stop a thief for two seconds.
There’s a reason all my motorbike insurance specifies “brick built”.
I live in a nice place but I’m very security conscious - I don’t keep anything in my shed that I can’t afford to simply shrug off the loss of or that someone won’t steal.
Our eBikes are in the garage, but to be honest if someone gets in there then I’m in serious trouble and they’ll be the least of my worries.
Just make sure your insurance is top notch.
