Re sheds - a wooden shed is basically unsecured, putting a poxy padlock on it isn’t going to stop a thief for two seconds.

There’s a reason all my motorbike insurance specifies “brick built”.

I live in a nice place but I’m very security conscious - I don’t keep anything in my shed that I can’t afford to simply shrug off the loss of or that someone won’t steal.

Our eBikes are in the garage, but to be honest if someone gets in there then I’m in serious trouble and they’ll be the least of my worries.

Just make sure your insurance is top notch.
I questioned my insurance yesterday. It was £29 for the year to add the bike. My garage isn’t accessed from inside the house. The only entrance is the big door. It’s an electric door which has a emergency pull chord if the power gets knocked off. It’s pretty easy to pick the lock and pull the chord. I’m tempted to bolt the bike to the floor. This is all coming from a house with a golf R on the driveway!

I fitted some of these up and over garage door bolts. Very easy to fit And good security.

Thanks for that idea. I think I’ll do that.

I am not bloody surprised, it's beautiful. I am biased as I have an acoustic Mondy and yours was on my shortlist but eventually went for a Decoy. Is that your first emtb?
Hi Nick, yeah it is....... and I love it! I have been out everyday bar saturday since it arrived, total convert, laps laps laps.... everywhere. And on top of this, I was concerned getting a bike I had not ridden before, I had no need to worry! What a thing, we are getting on great, I have just spent the evening throwing it around on the trails!
My experience is the same. It's a different sport all together. I work 30% less on the bike but I ride 300% more so definitely gaining fitness while trimming the heart rate spikes by about 15bpm, which is good at 51... The other massive benefit in bike park environment is that you get to the top less tired and enjoy the descent even more. I think the majority of serious mountain bikes will be E within 5 years.

Being more a park rider than long rides I whacked some 190mm boxxers on my kenevo that I purchased last year, 1st ebike.
Its just brilliant. 3 times more runs at non uplift bikeparks than I used to be able to push/ride up.

Another 17miles this morning on the Moors.

GF has to run out later to Stokesley, so probably get a lift over and do 20miles back at tea time.

Does that go in the back of the car comfortably?

My Cube Reaction ? Yes.
She has a Rav4 and it will go in with the seats down, no wheels off etc.
Or I can put the towbar mount rack on for the journey.

How have you found the bike in general reliability etc? I’m looking for my first e-bike I like the kenevo/Levo i want a bike to do it all really from parks/ forest trailers/ riding to work/ canal pub crawls! Would you say the electric is worth the extra cash?

I haven't long term owned one but that Lenevo is what made me chip in my Halfords emtb in and spend the extra 2k on the cube reaction.

If you actually mountain bike as well not just a mode of transportation, you will love it. Like riding a dirt bike.

Worth the cash if you have it spare.

You can rent ebikes at some trail centres, about 70 quid a day. They will swap out the battery too.

That's where small SUVs are great. Front wheel off and use the dropper to anchor it against the ceiling. No faffing.

I've a kenevo expert. Worth every penny. I usually use it for shuttling DH... But did just under 50k xc on it the other day and it was super comfy. The motor overcomes any of the weight related negatives.

The motor is a peach and the battery is huge. Can't comment on reliability yet as only bought a couple of months ago.

I've had a Kenevo for over 2 years and all well. If you check out the emtb forum you'll see that Specialized appear to have more issues than most but i think that just reflects their popularity ie more members so more issues. Specialized seem to have very good back up and warranty

Today I eventually received the contact shims for the wifes LIV. Was pretty simple to fit, with the new shims now in, it pushes the contacts into the battery by a good 5 to 6mm in. I refitted the battery and the bike fired up immediately. That was weird as it usually needs to be powered up on the controller on the bars. I switched it off and it immediately fired back up again. Googling seems to show potentially moisture in the connector behind the steerer. I did damp the bike off yesterday as was pretty grime covered, but nothing excessive. Seems you can remove the grommet on the frame and the connector comes out. Mine wouldnt as the plug and cable seemed jammed in there. So, I had to remove the lock assembly from the downtube and I found the cable was wrapped and jammed up with the brake and gear cables as to why it wouldnt come out. The handlebar switch cable shows signs of damage also , which the guy from Giant technical said will need replacing with a new version. Apparently they had issues to then modify the connector for water getting in and causing the issues with the canbus system.
The frustration continues with this bike. If things are getting redesigned, then they have obviously had issues. I suspect the later LIV bikes will already have the connector shims fitted of modified the plug and casting that holds it plus a later water tight plug for the handlebar controller.
I dont want to wait another 4 weeks for this part and need an answer quickly . I guess the wife can ride the bike and I can switch off by unplugging the plug , but thats not how it should be.
Looking around for anything extra small is non-existent, so getting a full refund doesnt push us any further forward with being able to ride a bike. Its been a frustrating experience for us with an EB.

Agree on the frustration. Justin. I'd be itching over it. These are not penny chew cost bikes we are talking about and the problems you mention are not 'bad luck' but bad design IMHO.

Keep peddling. I've nailed mine twice a day Mon, Tues and Wed. Itching to go try out my new birthday present wear today too !

Not sure that’s proving much, I can get my ebike in the back of an S5 Cabriolet with the front wheel off and the back seats folded down, although not standing up like that though hehe

This is a trail through otley chevin in Leeds, it's about 4 mins top to bottom of hang on and don't touch the front brake in this mud lol

Even on a hard tail is so much fun, then when you're done, flip turbo mode and do it again nice and easy.

Love e bikes
