Indeed, I'm two weeks into e-MTB ownership and don't ache so much now. Locally the Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Butser Hill has some excellent tracks I've been riding the Blue Route which is really good both from a riding point of view as well as the scenery. Hope to have a go at the Red Route soon. I'm grateful for the extra battery power(same output as yours) which means I just sail up the slopes and hilly sections. I avoid parking there due to the extortionate parking fees but locally there are many places to park up and ride in.
Hmn, might be worth checking out when the missus finally get the tower fitted to her new car. Always interested in scenic off-road rides, especially circular ones.

So my Cube Stereo hybrid 120 Pro 625 arrived earlier than expected - it was waiting for me when I got home yesterday. I love the colour, a very pale green. Ah, the pain of having to charge the battery for five hours before riding it was a killer - then it was dark outside and my lights haven't arrived yet, so I still haven't ridden it more than up and down the close! It's absolutely amazing, I am utterly gagging to take it out over the Downs.

For anyone who's interested it was £3199. My partners one (which is frame size XS) is currently being given a delivery date of March 2021! Nightmare.

That looks the business and excellent VFM (although it will need a dropper). Where on the Downs do you ride ? (I have assumed that's the South Downs!).

Thanks, I absolutely love the bike so far, although only been out on it once and noticed the speedo reading keeps going weird and reporting the wrong speeds before going back to normal (there seems to be little on the internet about this but looks like a new display may be needed, great). Dropper is going to have to wait until I have a few miles under my belt - they seem to be comically expensive. This is something I have noticed after 20 years since last riding - bike stuff is crazy expensive now generally.

I cycle all over the Downs from Eastbourne end, Brighton and over to Worthing, although the Winchester end is my favourite, so come spring I think a train to Winchester and a cycle from there again. I'm a local, but just moved to Haywards Heath so currently looking for some good cycle routes here which avoid busy roads as far as possible - not easy in the horrendously congested South East!
Doesn’t have to be expensive. Buy a brand x ascend stealth dropper, 120mm drop and internally routed. They are bullet proof.

£139 new or get one off eBay for £75. Good reviews and I have had 3 and never had a problem.

Might be worth checking the rear wheel magnet is correctly aligned. The fat end is supposed to intersect with a faint mark on the pickup on the chain stay. Discovered when I picked mine up that it wasn't there!

To be fair they (the Bike Rack) also suggested I go to a Cube dealer. I said that the Cube dealers were not so convenient for me, whereas I am in Yarm 2 or three times a week.
Skinnergate Cycles in Stockton are Cube dealers
Yes - that was the plan B - or even Sutton Bank.
But never in Stockton, I'm further south.

So far so good.
For Chopper602:

irked
whilst chuffed the bike was only 24hrs from drop off to collection for the motor to be sent, received and fitted - I should make you aware I was tapped for £50 at the Yarm Bike Rack for the pleasure despite it being a warranty replacement.

I hadn't noticed the tiny line on the black sensor receiver, it's all sorted now! I love it so much, just wish it was spring not autumn and wet!

I'd be speaking to cube. I had a cannondale tandem frame replaced under warranty... Stokesly bike shop did it. It was FOC to me... 'Dale picked up the cost.

Thanks will do.

Next prob:

‘Sport’ mode ? No ‘eMTB’ ? On the latest Bosch ?

New motor fitted - and test ride this morning
I and I noticed that the modes are now ‘eco’, ‘tour’ ‘SPORT’ and ‘Turbo’
Is this right ? The LBS (whilst Bosch authorised) didn’t seem very knowledgeable. Have they put the wrong firmware on ?
Bike is a Reaction EX 2020 hardtail.

If you stay on the South Downs Way you probably don't need a dropper. But then again, a gravel bike might be better anyway for that wink

If you do want a bit more fun along the way (literally) then there are proper moutain bike trails along the SDW: QE, Rogate, Stoughton, Whiteways, Steyning trails, Friston forest, etc etc. You will need a cheap £100 dropper which will transform your bike (no exaggeration). I live 15mn from Steyning so feel free to PM me if you want a quick tour.

You're not far from me then. Steyning's a lovely place. I'm looking for bike routes - I've done hundreds of walks around Sussex these last ten years, now I need to find routes which are OK for bicycles. Will all these be on OS maps?

My Cube Stereo 2020 has the Bosch CX Performance motor same as you and it has eMTB mode.

Generally no as the trails are built by mountain bikers for mountain bikers. The past 6 months have seen trail building increase massively of course. You might find a few on trailforks though and the blue / red at QE are obvious.

I do think the Lion trail at Steyning (which starts at Chanctonbury from the SDW) is on OS (it's on Google Maps) but that's the only one as the others branching out of it are quite new or "secret".

If it's the Performance Line or Performance Line CX motor then it is ECO, TOUR, EMTB and TURBO and if it's the CX there is a firmware update to increase the power to 85 nm too

The bike shop tried to blame me as they 'had tested it'. They gave me another and I carry one in my saddlebag. Then the battery failed. All on the first day. Fixed the same day too so not all bad.

Mine and my wife's 2020 Acid Hybrid 400s have the 'Performance Gen 3' motors, but we have Sport modes, no Emtb mode. I assume this can't be changed? Not that too I'm bothered, they're great as they are.

Hmn, interesting! The SDW runs from Chanctonbury to Steyning pretty much too.
