Next prob:

‘Sport’ mode ? No ‘eMTB’ ? On the latest Bosch ?

New motor fitted - and test ride this morning
I and I noticed that the modes are now ‘eco’, ‘tour’ ‘SPORT’ and ‘Turbo’
Is this right ? The LBS (whilst Bosch authorised) didn’t seem very knowledgeable. Have they put the wrong firmware on ?
Bike is a Reaction EX 2020 hardtail.
If it's the Performance Line or Performance Line CX motor then it is ECO, TOUR, EMTB and TURBO and if it's the CX there is a firmware update to increase the power to 85 nm too
It's the Performance Line CX motor :-)

You too ?
My magnet was missing too ! (the GF's was duly robbed biggrin )
The bike shop tried to blame me as they 'had tested it'. They gave me another and I carry one in my saddlebag. Then the battery failed. All on the first day. Fixed the same day too so not all bad.
That is uncanny ! Date / model?

received ours 22 April.

The Bike shop we bought from (midlands and bought over the phone) had assembled and 'set them up' - for me to straighten the bars, fit the pedals, and front wheel.

Road mine on Day one to go catch a ride and the Error code and subsequent discovery that mine was missing a Magnet.

After that first ride, I charged it. And the battery died. Dead. Nada.
Needed replacing.

Hmn, interesting! The SDW runs from Chanctonbury to Steyning pretty much too.
Well kind of but it avoids Steyning village as it goes through the pigs farm down to the river.

To get to Steyning from Chanctonbury you need to turn off into the Lion Trail entrance (Google Map should show you how) which itself will get you into the Steyning trails.

A partial insight into some of them here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APcMvjjwY4Y

All decent power front lights will have the battery strapped to the frame like this....

(Apologies for my muddy bike - it’s in the dining room due to having four motorbikes in the garage as well as a great big E class)
None of my mates with their very expensive lights get near my battery life. Also - one of them went over the bars last week and smashed his Hope light that cost ten times what mine cost.

Mine is the two bulb model which is pretty small - they do a 3 bulb as well which is a bit clumsy and uses the same battery pack. I prefer mine. If you do go for one of these make sure it's one with a hard plastic battery case - for a while they did some with just a soft cover.
I eventually got around to ordering this Nesling front light, it arrived today and I'm currently giving the battery its first charge. I like that the USB socket lights up red when charging, I assume it turns green once fully charged?

Performance line doesn't have the emtb, it's 65nm and just got eco, tour, sport and turbo.

Performance line "cx" has emtb

Anyone else had the 85Nm update done yet? I had mine done on Thursday, took the bike out after in full anticipation and, well......meh. In fact it feels distinctly less sprightly than it did before, certainly in EMTB mode. What are other people finding?

An utterly mad week at work has resulted in 270 commuting KMs since Monday on my Bosch e-bike, and it’s been an absolute pleasure!

Total electricity cost ca. 50 cents !

The reports I've read suggest you won't notice any difference in EMTB or Turbo mode as the extra power is found when riding at low cadence.

Whilst riding in at the weekend a chap pulled up alongside me on one of the Canyon Fitness e-bikes.

Wow, what an impressive piece of kit!

The Fazua Evation mid motor is about a quarter of the size of my Bosch Performance mid drive.

Nicely integrated battery.

They have really come a long way!

Most impressive thing about Fazua is their continued updates. Since I got my one in Feb this year they have improved power out put via a software update, allowed users to configure power delivery, enabled power meter reading from a 3rd party headunit like Wahoo/phone app, and last week introduced a new 12V connector which means you can now lights off the battery.

In 'Rocket' mode the new power update means going up even 10%+ inclines is like sitting on your sofa at home, but it does drain the battery. Its a very good system though if you just want occasional assistance up a hill. I do like how 'normal' the system looks, and still enables wheel upgrades if you wish unlike hub motor systems.

Mine was start of June (Cube Acid), almost exactly the same issue. Error code, missing magnet replaced and then after first short ride, put the battery on charge, just to test it really, and it went off and didn't come back.

It most certainly does, as my Performance line has 75nm and eco, tour, emtb and turbo.

Yes, I've seen those - my point was, it actually feels less powerful in those two modes?

FWIW I have noticed on the 50miles of 'wrong map' on my CX performance and hence this subject - the stab to what used to be EMTB to give a boost when you hit the incline / tougher stuff is not at all immediate like it used to be.
It seems to take 3-4 secs to feel like the torque change has been fed it. So much so it feels like nothing has changed. Initially.
Turbo achieves nothing beyond this.

Have you arranged to take it back (or even somewhere else)for the correct software to go on ?

Yes - its on my list today, but Teams Meetings are making a nuisance of the attempt ! (plus ball ache of towbar mounting etc)
But as kicked along by your post, I shall go mount them on the car in advance........ and get up to Yarm as soon as I can smile

them as I may as well have her's also upgraded.

Can work as a rear also
I've gone for maximum 'mud guardage' on mine. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I like it. smile

I just received mine this week after ordering in March.

Easy to fit but unfortunately mine is faulty and doesn’t always power the wheel. Had a Zoom call with Swytch today who are sending out some new parts to hopefully fix it.

It’s been good fun and got me out on my bike a lot more than I usually would.
2 week update, no new parts have arrived yet and now it's totally died. Doing a quick google it appears that I'm not the only one having issues with faulty kits and hard to come by replacement parts.

I've done the same on mine, I was fed up with a streak of mud up the back of my jacket and head and seem to get less on my boots now as well. I've even bought a big springy saddle too but as I'm sat on it in great comfort most of time I'm not worried what it looks like.

<Crocodile Dundee Voice> That's not a Maximum Mudguard, this is......... </Crocodile Dundee Voice>

But they work amazingly well. Only the lower half of my legs get any splash back /mud flung 'up'.
