As a total aside - I had my annual MRI scan yesterday. Fortunately, being on semi-friendly terms with my lead surgeon, I got my results today - all clear and no tumour regrowth. I'm so happy and relieved biggrin

I'm glad the money will be going straight to that centre smile

Just seen your update about the cheque presentation. What an amazing final total. Great that your surgeon could be there!

Genuinely brought a tear to my eye- chapeau!

Awww thanks mate, it was a great afternoon! I've been lucky to have kept in contact with him over the last few years but it was really good to see him again. I'll be posting a final update when I go to close the page. Still had another £25 donation yesterday hehe

Bloody brilliant work. Well done.

I missed that you were doing it then otherwise I'd have come and done some with you.

Ah not to worry mate, the amount of support I had was incredible. Reckon I had riders with me for a good 7-8 hours of the day, was awesome!

I'm just pleased it's raised a decent sum of money, makes it feel more worthwhile for sure! I even had another £25 donation yesterday hehe

My old man has bought a couple as he wants one himself. I am quite surprised it was basically a 2 page spread. I was expecting some obscure corner somewhere taking up about 10% of the page, so to get a 2 page spread was pretty cool smile

And how is this for bizarre (bare with me on this one)....I got a message from my old man yesterday with a picture of 2 women in it saying "do you know these 2?" and they looked very vaguely familiar but I had to say no. He then said that it was his ex-wife and daughter in law (they broke up when I was about 9.....so we're talking 20+ years ago). Apparently they are now living in Australia.....she got in touch with him after reading about my Everesting in a local paper! The only thing I can fathom is that the guys who do the Everesting (Hells 500 - who are based in Australia) decided it was worthy to try and get some news spread over there about it.....Either way, that's pretty bonkers.

I rode Box Hill yesterday, and this guy was in my "flybys" list. Superb effort in that heat/sun:

It was certainly pretty warm yesterday! I generally cope OK in the heat (except I felt rubbish yesterday!) but when I did mine the average temperature was 5 degrees (started at 0 deg) and a 15mph headwind average all day going up the hill! Makes it an, erm, experience!

I have decided I am going to the Pyrenees next year for some climbing! Just trying to rally up some interest, only got 1 other committed person so far!
