Zwift - Some of us love it, some hate it, whatever your opinion its a good training tool, particularly if you can't get outside due to family commitments, weather, work etc.

So ...

As we've done in the past, anyone else interested in a bit of competition in the TDZ? Finished stage 3 last night.

Results from ZwiftPower

Stage 1 (B) - 41:08
Stage 2 (A) - 52:52
Stage 3 (A) - 57.08

Total - 2:31:08

Anyone else doing it?

Sorry Dan. That excuse doesn't hold.

We had baby number 3 on 29th Nov .......

By the way - huge congratulations. First baby really is completely life changing. Boy or Girl? hope (s)he's doing well and you're getting some sleep. Number 1 was so much harder than number 3!!!

Hope you can get back on the bike soon!!

He's a boy called Jackson. One of the first for 2019 too.
Yeah he's doing well and we're getting some sleep. He spent a few extra days in the hospital so it all started a couple of days ago.

That was pretty nuts, 23km covered in the first 30 minutes, went backwards on the climb finished in 59m 42s.

I’m doing it, feels like I’m having a decent workout. Usual Zwift foibles and quirks to contend with but at this time of year I don’t mind the turbo at all and can easily enough find an hour.

1. 1.03.18
2. 52.46
3. 54.17

Crikey those are some times

This being my first forray into Zwift, I'm riding blind and have no idea how to pace for any of the routes! I'm just going along for the ride!

I did (results updated to ZwiftPower):

1(A) - 1h 26 (av 225w)
2 - 1h 01 (av 253w)
3 - 1h 05 (av 253w)
4 - missed it!
5 (A)- 1h 25 (av 250w) - another 4:45am alarm for this one. Ick!
6 - 1h 36 (av 233w) I've got another 2 levels until I can have another crack at that one! The climb took 67 mins so definitely time to be found.
7 (A) - 1h 38 (av 253w - I'm consistent!)
8 (B) - 45m 35sec (not the 45m 01s Swift said) - dropped my phone twice doh! av 268w today - took three mins off my box hill PR, and set a new 5m and 20m average record - on target for a 300ftp sooner than expected which means the target for the year is now..dare I say it..4w/kg.
9 (A) - 1h 3m (268w)

Having jumped onto this and the Gran Fondo 8 week workout, and still riding out in the real world 2-3 times a week, my legs are starting to look forward to a few days in Koh Samui next week! Plan is to have a warm up ride the day I get back then hit an FTP session.

85kg, yet to do an FTP but guess it around 270w

Well that was stage 4 done and dusted, more like a bloody race. How is it that people can still text when I'm barrelling along on my limit? Anyways, 57:28 - absolutely cooked.

Stage 1 (B) 1:02:32 (Avg 163W)
Stage 2 1:42:47 (avg 140) - not fun!
Stage 3 1:28:06 (167)
Stage 4 1:28:19 (162). Some git was sat right behind me on the final 1k, so tried to drop them. Ended up dropping myself when I slipped off my sweaty handlebars laugh

Thankfully there's a few days before Stage 5 - as a fattie I'm wrecked!

Quietly ticking it off, but I'm just putting zwift up as eye candy while doing my usual structured workouts, so not worrying about the (horrible) times. Kinda amusing doing big intervals in the group and watching people chase on just as you roll into a rest interval. Good way of avoiding getting sucked into 'racing' it too biggrin

gah - I hadn't realised there is a few days gap between 4 and 5, had intended on doing Stage 4 last night but nothing in the calendar, and 5 isn't until Tuesday Eve here.

Guess I'll be using the catch-up day!

I've done

Stage 1 (A) - 1.22.52 - 233w
Stage 1 (B) - 51.26 -253w
Stage 2 - 1.06.54 - 259w
Stage 3 - 1.11.56 - 249w
Stage 4 - 1.08.58 - 251w
Stage 4 - 1.06.41 - 254w

I weigh 111 Kg - need to lose a lot before I can go fast (i'm 6'6 so never going to get below 90)

I rode the alp for the first time last week - everyone is in for a fun time at the weekend!!

1:10 for me - wasn't feeling the best; 23rd street really didn't help!

So looking forward to Stage 6 - Alpe du Zwift redfacecryhurl
