New bike day, yesterday.
My first all carbon bike.
My first bike with disc brakes.
2021 Bianchi Aria Ultegra in iridescent Summertime Dream.
(Store’s photo)
Mine:
(I’d literally just unloaded it from the car, and it only had temp pedals on for fitting in Germany. Buying new Keo Carbon Blades for this one.)
I managed to track this down in Merzig, Germany, about an hours drive from home. The dealer, Alexander Boos, had an enormous amount of stock, but shifts loads too!
Anyway, I can’t get out o. It until tomorrow as I’m committed elsewhere today.

Try and get your fit sorted ASAP so the excess steerer can get chopped down - not just because it looks better but the bung is potentially above the clamping zone so a weakness could be introduced in the steerer tube.
Nice bike though, cant go wrong with a Bianchi
Yes, thanks, I will do so soon.Nice bike though, cant go wrong with a Bianchi
There's a special bike for place not so far away. Easy to remember: bikefit.lu !
Had this for quite a while now, Colnago C59, bought to replace my stolen LOOK 586 (garage broken into, 5 bikes gone). It’s a really lovely thing and even though superseded by newer models, even using man maths I can’t find any enthusiasm for changing. Not the lightest, about 7.5kg ready to ride, but such a pleasure - smooth, great handling, lively - never fails to make me smile.

"Old Bike Day" for me today...
Road bike was in the boot of my car, but a tyre check showed (yet another) rear flat. So I decided to take that Trek out of the car, and fit a spare set of flat pedals to this 'Dale. I'm pretty sure it's my first ride on this bike this year. Headed out to the Wylye Valley and the Great Ridge on parts of the Wessex Way, to grab a view VeloViewer tiles that I couldn't really have contemplated riding on my Trek Emonda.
(Feel free to ignore those wheels! They're a temporary solution while I save my pennies for a decent set of DCR Wheels)
