Built up and loving it. Some bits still to upgrade ( some Raceface cranks at some point mostly). It’s fast, comfy and confidenceninslring on proper rough stuff.

Can’t wait to do some big trips on it later in the year as well as mosey round Lake Garda in august! 😍

I’ve been contemplating one of these for ages! Tempted to buy the frame and build it up slowly or with c2w vouchers for the parts I don’t have, yours looks really good.

A new arrival today. Shipping here cost more than the bike did, sadly.

It’s almost 25 years old…but what is it?

Nicely done!

19l8 Specialized Fatboy Hemi MX.

I’ve never had a bmx before, but I remember seeing one of these on the Spesh stand at the 1997 NEC Bike Show and fell in love. Can’t wait to go and embarrass myself at the local pump track.

I had a 1998 aluminium dark blue dirt jumper version. I recognised the welded monocoque seam plus the interrupted seat tube (i think, hard to tell from pic) and the DX/V-brake

I used money from my first job to pay it off in installments at my local Cycling World shop. I upgraded it with parts from my mates KHE Heavy Tools Ruler, 7pc kneesaver bars, 3 piece crank, Skyway Tuff 2 etc. Then it got stolen and i moved onto DH bikes.

That’s rad! Looks to be the same colour. Having never even ridden a bmx I’m hoping it’ll cope with a pump track and small dirt jumps despite being a race bike. Longer wheel base I presume?

The top tube and wheelbase were longer than the street version. It would be the perfect pump track BMX due to its stiffness/power transfer and low weight.

I remember it being really light compared with the 4130 chromo bikes of the time.

Recommissioned my '83 Raleigh, off my turbo trainer, new tubes and bar tape, was purchased over lockdown for £30 then I stripped it completely.

I custom rattle canned it (Rover British Racing Green, it was originally faded red) then single speed-conversion, with modern Raleigh decals and bigger 700C deep rims with 35 gravel tyres...and yes it's even got the vintage extra long cables biggrin

Lovely thing to ride, proper flies along.

That looks spot on for bashing around on tracks and bridleways. Something you can use without worrying about every stone chip and scratch

Updated old faithful this week, this was a flatbar but rebuilt with 4700 Tiagra shifters, GRX rear mech, new wheels and tyres, Brooks C17 saddle. I am still running old school chainset as it helps with correct chainline.

5 years old and nearly 10k covered so it was a birthday treat.

Onwards to the next 5 years.

Fairly new to this but a few friends ride alot so i decided to get involved. Since i ruined my ligaments in my knees i cant play football anymore so saw this as a good substitute along with an excuse for a few beers after a ride!

Just taken delivery of this Ribble Endurance SL with Ultegra groupset, enjoying it so far

So I've got a 3yr old who can now ride a bike on his own.
Wanted to start going out with him and couldn't take my S-Works everywhere, especially if I need to drop it if he gets into trouble, so bought a CX bike.

2017 Giant TCX SLR 2
Prime Attaquer wheelset
Schwalbe X-one 35mm tyres
Shimano GRX 600 1x (42T front and 11-40 rear)
Loads of other "Prime" components
Bar tape to go on tomorrow

Weighs just under 9kg

My Van Nicholas Amazon, a mixture of Ultegra and Dura Ace. Probably the nicest long distance bike I’ve ever owned, just so comfortable.

Your brave!

I've often thought, on a lazy day off. Put one of my bikes in a honey spot and wait.

For fun times.

Knowing my luck they'll smell a rat.

I’ve used as a regular errand bike for years now, wheels have Allen key skewers and I use a Kryptonite New York lock. The panniers are cable tied on. I wouldn’t leave outside in Central Oxford, but there is secure locked covered cycle hub at the Westgate Centre.

Pointless owning it, if I’m never going to use it.
