Wow!! That looks mint.
For those modernista's on here, this is the equivalent of a 250gto Ferrari when it comes to classic mountain bikes.
Please tell me you do ride it though?

Thank you for the kind words.
I’ve owned it since 1993. Got the frame for my birthday and then built it up. Used to use it for xc racing in the south east, mainly Shirley Hills when I was in the Addiscombe Cycling Club. A few years later went to uni and since then never used it until around 2006-2009 when it was stripped down and re-sprayed by Chas Roberts and some of the components changed.
Used it for the London Triathlon in 2006 but since then kept in dry storage. It is mint.

Very early frame number and possibly used by the Yeti race team (local bike shop/importer) in the UK before I got it (although not sure).

The guys from Yeti in the US came to the UK importers when my bike was there 10years ago for the re-build and shocked with its condition.

It was my childhood dream bike when I saw a similar one in the shop in around 1990 with purple Ringle.

Unfortunately I will be putting it up for sale.
Don’t really want to sell it so will see what interest it gets. But i’ve not seen another like this.

From that eBay. A traditional road bike. You know: mechanical gears, rim brakes, tyres with inner tubes in...

It is a nice thing.

Had a little spin on it this morning on familiar roads. The tyres (Vittoria Zaffiro Pro Slick) are being swapped this very afternoon for Conti GP4000RS and then, after tomorrow's club run, I will swap the FSA alloy bars for some Deda Superleggera Carbon for a bit more vibration damping. Whilst doing that, I will tidy up the gear cables too

Its on ebay now. I’m not expecting to get the current listed price but want to see what interest and comments I get given its condition and relative rarity.
I will reduce it slowly over the weeks until I get an offer or decide to keep.
The sad thing for me is is that i’ve owned it for over 25 years and it was my dream bike when I was a teenager. All my teenage savings, birthday and Chrsitmas presents went into completing that bike and my hobby at the time was XC racing. It is very sentimental to me but at the same time it is not being used.

A few months ago I sold the original Accutrax forks - got some stick online for the initial asking price of 750 with some people online saying it was only worth 150. But it sold after only a few weeks for 500 and had lots of overseas interest.

Hmm, your price is erm, a tad optimistic. I'd have said 2 to 3k max. If you broke it down the tyres, if original porcs - 150 to 200 the pair. Cook's cranks, 150 to 200. Forks, similar. Ringle wheel set 4-500, Maguras 100ish, saddle 60, stem 50 etc...
It's the frame people really want and that's probably a grand or so. Not meaning to be too down but more just realistic.

I’ve owned a Canyon Spectral for the last five years and have been thinking about upgrading it to a newer model. As a regular browser of the Canyon website I was having difficulty ignoring the sale they’ve just had so did the decent thing and ordered a Spectral CF 8.0.

I’ve spent more time staring at it than riding it so far though. I was a bit concerned about the stealth paintwork when viewing it on the website but it’s stunning in the “flesh”.

I understand where you are coming from and am expecting to drop the price a lot (unless I get very lucky). Just want to see what interest or negotiable offers people make at the moment before setting the next price.

I have just got home to the US from La Clusaz in the French Alps. It was a reliving your youth holiday and I wanted my kids to experience what I did. Here is the link to your bike........

Your bike may be the reason I was so obsessed with mtb’ing in my youth. Literally, your bike. Yeti, Checker Pig and many others competed in La Clusaz in the early 90’s when I used to be there on holiday. The Yeti team were amazing and their bikes were incredible. I tried to ride one of the courses and spent more time on my ass than bike. That just added to my god like opinion of the riders.

More attainable bikes were the Scotts that could be rented. I was amused on revisiting after 25 years to see Scott still are almost the only brand you can rent. I have a Scott Genius today because of renting one in 1990.

My Voodoo Bizango pre post cycle wash after a 10 mile spin round Carron Valley.

Bargain of a bike in my humble opnion. Halfords had £100 off then got a further 10% corporate perks discount taking it to just under £500.

Standard just now except the dropper seat post but planning on changing the grips and pedals in due course...

My Cube- just needs new wheels to be perfect for me

Looks the same as mine - Cube Attain Pro GTC disc (or at least a different model year) agree about the wheels, some deeper carbon ones are on my list in the future. I never thought I’d enjoy a road bike as much as I do but here I am!

Also got this, which is why I bought the Cube road bike.

Cube Acid 27.5 - DMR pedals, Hope grips, Shimano 4 piston XT brakes with 203/180 discs. Absolutely love it but it’s 6 years old now, so it’s missing things like through axles, tapered headset and so on, I might have to replace it next year.

More of sentimental / historic value than monetary value.

Built back in the day for doing duel and general street riding monkey business. Got a spare set of 6in double crowns it sometimes used to have fitted kicking about somewhere.

First batch of Merlin’s jump frames, Z2 Bomber circa 1998, Hope Pro discs on Hope hubs, Michelin Comp 22 and IRC Kujo tyres. Have a spare set of Comp 16s in the garage for it.

Only thing is, it sucks to ride any real distance and I want something I can do a bit of work on my fitness with, since I haven’t properly ridden in knocking on for 15 years and my waistline shows it!

So finally bought myself a VooDoo last night, having coveted the notion of a Bantu for much of the late 90s and very early noughties.

Nothing special, but I had decided a gravel bike fitted what I needed, wasn’t ready to fully commit to a road bike. VooDoo Limba, barely ridden, £250

Tonight I shall be raking through the shed to try and establish whether I sold my old DX pedals or the shoes that clipped in to them. I definitely sold one or other, just can’t remember which

Was looking at getting an 8 speed Alfine commuter, but ended up buying a Giant Toughroad SLR2 2018 at a price I could not miss

found one the owner claimed had just 20 miles on it that had been kept in what was a downstairs toilet that had been turned into a storage room for a year plus, so in the dry and warm.

£250

Was £270 but was creaking on test ride

So possibly the crank or seat post

So I pulled the seat post, dry as a bone and loose bits

So when I got home pulled out the D-Fuse seat post tube and the integrated clamp, completely dry and gritty, so used the wooden spoon to get the rags clean right down inside the frame to clean inside (shushhhhhh), stripped down and cleaned the integrated seat post clamp, cleaned and greased the whole lot with white lighting lithium grease and the creak is totally gone

When cycling meets interior design and storage.
Merida Reacto 5000 with the single chairing (46) and 11-36 Ultegra at the rear. Would't go back to 2x.
And custom made wooden shelf.
