Not really a bike, but unpacked and had my first try of my new KICKR Bike earlier today. 90min session and I know it's a game changer.

Nice! How long from order to delivery?

When my kickr snap dies - or sooner if temptation gets the better of me - a smart bike will be coming here too. Not sure yet which Wattbike Atom / Wahoo / Tacx / Stages / ... but they do seem to be the best way of handling indoor training
Ordered Friday, delivered Monday, unpacked & set up yesterday.

I had a KICKR with my older Dogma on it previously, this is generations newer.

I looked at all of the options. The Wattbike is noiser and bigger, plus I didn't find the fit as close. The Stages feels like a spin bike. The Tacx is very good, similar noise level and was a very close contender. In the end, the Wahoo has some cool features, was the the quietest along with the Tacx, the climb/elevation function is a nice to have.....but I also have everything else Wahoo so I know it just works seemlessly.
I'm guessing you mean the Wattbike Atom? Surprised it's noisy, it was on my list. Really noisy or just a bit more than a Kickr? Or LeMond noisy?

I'm currently on a gen3 Wahoo Kickr, and it's been faultless (as was my gen1 Kickr, but a tad noisy).

Yes the Atom, and yes it's just noisier than the KICKR & TACX, it's still a lot quieter than the standard KICKR. My normal KICKR (mine is a Gen 2) has been faultless too, as in fairness has every Wahoo product I've got.

Looks good. I’m eying one up. I want di2 and 50mm carbon rims but don't like the colour of the sl7 and like the silver sl5 so might get one and upgrade.
What weight saving was there on the seatmast?
What size is it?
How does it ride?

Older gen, but I hired an Emonda Di2 to ride Ventoux. Along with Canyon's, one of the most natural and immediately comfortable bikes I've ever jumped on and rode in anger straight away.

How do you rate the Principia?
Lovely thing...bargain f&f and wheels on ebay many years ago and then built up with 105 groupset from Merlin.

Disclaimer; I'm no hardcore Roadie, much happier jumping over stuff smile
I have one aswell, the RS6, found it very nice.
Haven't seen anyone else riding one so they are a bit rare.

Have they a screw on bottom bracket? I have what looks like the original ultegra groupset and would like to freshen it up.

I didn’t weigh the difference but it’s significant and you can easily feel it in your hands. I’m the same. The silver looks stunning in the flesh so I will gradually upgrade as new things come out. I haven’t been out on it properly apart from a quick spin to set up. It’s been chucking down all day but should get out on it tomorrow. This is a 54cm, I have always ridden 54cm Treks. Fit really well. I haven’t had a road bike for 6. On this so looking forward to getting off the dirt for a change......

Tell me about it! The Emonda wasn't even on my long list when buying a replacement road bike. Then Matt at Pedal On in Tadley twisted my arm into test-riding it, and by the time I got back to the shop I'd decided to buy it. It's in the shop for a new derailleur cable now, after Tuesday's "fun" ride on a two-speed bike in hilly Dorset...

Thinking back to buying mine, the colour was an issue then too. What I needed was "just" an SL5, but I couldn't live with the green paint. So I parted with an extra chunk of cash to get the SL6 in red. Full Ultegra groupset is nice, but way beyond the level of kit I need.

Looks great, nice clean lines too, I'm ordering mine in a few weeks.

Black and radioactive red will be the color scheme

I’m going to visit the trek store Manchester to see if they will sell me a silver sl5 in sl6 pro spec. Plus to see the other colours before making a decision.
I had a 2015 domane and a 2017 cannondale ss evo. Hopefully this emonda on 28cc tyres will mean only the one bike.

My new bike.

Having been out of MTB'ing for quite some time, I'm amazed by how light and efficient it is!

Some nice new toys there! The Orange Five looks particularly good in that colour scheme and loving the silver Emonda.

Always staggers me that so many brands have such limited choices on colours, often just one per model/variant.

I've got three Dogmas, and each time I've had a huge choice of coloured frames, especially with the F10..... That said, I've always ended up with black!!

Trek Manchester as in central town or Handforth/Wilmslow? The Wilmslow guys are usually very accommodating.

Since I last posted about my £100 Ultegra groupset find i've wrapped the bars and ridden it quite a lot.

My god Ultegra is brilliant, I thought before that Claris was fine, shifted nicely etc. This is (naturally) another world. The ease of shifting into the big ring up front still amazes me weeks later. Also, by some miracle you can cross chain until your heart is content (although I don't...) and not hear any chain clatter on the front derailleur even without the trim shifts. I had fitted Ultegra brakes before, but they too are a tremendous upgrade to the basic stuff you get from the factory on lower end bikes, well worth the £40-50 or so second hand.

Also, for £20 the carbon bars are unreal value, other than the crappy branding. There is so much less buzz through your hands and wrists, it's night and day.

Final build cost = £500 (less sale of Claris groupset) & it weighs in at 8.5 kg with the 1480g wheels and the large frame. Really pleased.

Seriously cool

How do you find the sizing compared to the guides online?

I sit between 56 and 58. Replacing a 56 allez with a 56 tarmac to be collected soon. I think maybe I should have gone with a 58 but the reach is fine for me on a 56.
Thanks

I'm 173cm so sit bang in the middle of the 54cm size band

My SL4 Tarmac fit me perfectly (after a bike fit) and I could ride it all day every day with no issues.
The SL6 is slightly different but with a few different bits it's all but the same stack/reach as my previous one.

IMO, you need to try. I'm 168/169cm and charts say I could ride 50/52, but they feel too big.

I'm happier on a 48cm.....all all Pinarellos are 46.5.

I was going to go to the one in town as I have purchased a remedy frame from them last year but if the wilmslow guys are a good bunch I’ll try them.

Yup, standard screw in BB, I used the 105 BB that came with the groupset.

I've also never seen another on the road, one of my friends had one years ago but thats the only other one I've seen.
