Shivas... [twitch]. My dream fork back then... Sadly I had Jr t sized pockets. They were heavy old beasts IIRC.

Funnily enough still have some JR Ts in the garage. They're awaiting being fitted to an old hard tail as a pub bike.

This one is chameleon, in some light it's very green, sometimes more purple.

Close, near Faversham. My favourite route is via Graveney and along the Viking coastal path, through Herne Bay - and on to Margate on a good day.

Really enjoying the Tarmac but must confess little to compare to as I am three months / 1000 miles into a brand new hobby. It all started was a sofa to 30 miles in 30 days and went on from there.

Small world I now live in faversham!

Head out to Stelling Minnis in the summer the Elham Valley is also lovely going the other way head towards Lenham/Harrietsham ! There is plenty of nice rides in this small area we are fortunate as we don't have to get in the car to access quiet scenic roads! If you have strava search my name and you'll find me, although currently you will just see zwift rides and fairly boring runs!

Will stalk you on Strava Josh, mine is; https://www.strava.com/athletes/marksteadman

Caveats: Newbie, 56, 224lb (at the moment...),one replaced hip, one dodgy hip. I think that's all the excuses for my performance I can think of right now!

My Trek Domane SL7. Standard spec except saddle is Bontrager Aeolus, bars are S-Works carbon and tyres are 40mm Pirelli Cinturato gravel set up tubeless (still plenty of clearance and they come up at 42mm on the 25mm internal rims). I've also added the Blendr stem mount for Garmin and front light with an under-seat rear light from Bontrager.

The roads around here are smashed to bits but this is like riding a cloud cloud9.

Here it is wearing its previous Conti GP5000 tyres in 32mm which were great and fast (they may go back on in the summer)

It replaced this which I still have and is currently doing winter bike duties - started off as a low spec Cannondale carbon Synapse but has had just about every part replaced I think laugh. This is a cracking bike and ridiculously comfortable considering it doesn't have any cleverness except layup. It also (just about) fits mudguards over the 32mm tyres so I suspect it could fit 35s at a push.

When in doubt though I still love riding my minty 2006 Turner RFX. What a great bike, I've had it from new and I love it. smokin

My new Pipedream Sirius S5. Wanted a UK steel frame to replace my Ragley Bigwig. Needed to have modern geo designed for short travel, something that would pedal on but likes to get rowdy- this ticked the boxes.

Running XT 1 x 11 and brakes, E13 carbon cranks and bb, Hope headset, Burgtec cockpit and pedals, WTB rims on Hope Evo 4 hubs, Fox Performance 34 120mm fork.

Nice, be interested to hear your thoughts as the sirius was on my shortlist but decided to go pace instead 😀

2018 Domane SL8 in summer mode. I've stuck some mudguards on so it's covered in mud after about 5 miles now. Odd tyres if you look closely.

My Solaris Max.
Probably the best MTB I've owned. Not the fastest but the most enjoyable.

Why made you choose the Solaris over the Bfe?

The colour 🤣

I don't really need something as hardcore as the Bfe, I'm only running the Solaris with 120mm forks which is plenty for me and the Bfe is designed for 140mm.
There's a bit of a weight penalty on the Bfe as well.
As well as that, the colour is great!

Off to Cannock Chase (follow the dog) tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Where else would you recommend?
Monkey side of cannock is much better than the dog! There's also a LOT of off piste there now, most it it is really well made and seems to be draining well - real mixture of nice burms, jumps and some step-ups and also some loamy goodness. There's a barrier saying don't enter part way round.. can't miss the trails from there..!!!

Forgive me father for I have Sinned.

So I completely blame my riding mates who jumped ship just before a trip to wales at the end of September, So I had to join them, First off I bought a GT Force Amp to tied me over the long weekend, turned out to be a very capable bike, but way too heavy and terrible forks and wheels.
I set about narrowing down a bike that ticked all my boxes, Long story short not one bike ticked all boxes, so I had to compromise somewhere.
I had lined up a XTR Pivot shuttle off of Bernard Kerr but as he was inconsiderately still racing world cups etc I looked else where. This is what I ended up with.
Large Heckler which I have immediately changed the stupid SRAM brakes to Magura MT7 Pro with 220 200 rotors, New Wheels that I built (Nextie 45mm Plus wheels) some 2.8 rubber up front, some custom stickers for the invisiframe, some other choice purple parts and to finish it off a new Bel-Air in purple .

I have ridden 29ers for the past decade and I prefer them for my riding but I must say I'm enjoying throwing around small wheels and throwing shapes again.
Don't worry I still have a stable full of analogue bikes that I'm still using, just that little bit less.
