Picking this up shortly, new to me load lugger 119CDi Tourer select take the back row of seats out and get 4 ebikes in there

That's an executive looking van. Bet you can't wait to pick it up. Presumably the back row of seats folds forward, so you don't need to take them out to get the bikes in.

Check out my profile website for a simple way of holding your e-bikes inside the vehicle.

Simon, this is the 8 seat tourer and most of the time the very back row of seats will be removed and should get 4 bikes in with the first row of rear seats still usable. Fingers crossed :-)

I already bought the 4 bike laminated rack from your website a few weeks back, will be trying it out end of the month when I get home from work.

Just had tints done in the back windows and the tow bar fitted for pulling my track car around.

My highly practical vehicle. Bike does actually go in the boot if you remove the seatpost which is a bonus.

How do you find this rack to use? Any strain on the car or wobble with the bike?
I have the same one. Staggeringly good. Carbon roof flexes a little, and I position it so it has one suction cup on glass, but it's done 400+mile trips and been at a speed that would be immediate licence losing in the UK wink

Another Vito owner here although mine is the compact version. I had an old Berlingo before this just to see if I could get on with van life and found it so useful I decided to get something newer that I would use more smile

Thanks, think I may have to purchase one

Tesla Model X with tow bar mounted carrier, due to the size of the car the bike hardly adds any extra external dimensions. The saddle is in line with low rear lip spolier, and the neither wheels over hang the width of the car!

Planning on using it to carry my road bike 500 miles up to Fort William in the summer.

Ex army Series 3 Land rover. This pic was taken a few years ago. The bikes were large children's ones then. Now when I take my MTB'er son and his mates to Rogate or QE park we have to take front wheels off.

Parking the truck in the woods is not so much a problem with the 4x4 and Goodyear Xtragrips. Shame about the fuel economy going any further though. Security is not great either. However, the lads think it's cool.

The Mondeo estate gets used for further afield trips, but only my son & I can go then and it's more of a bugger to clean the mud out of.

Best rack I've ever owned. Fit rack and bike in 2mins, removed even quicker.

This is my current set up:

Now with added bike carrier by Lewis Craik, on Flickr

However, with two little future mountain bikers in tow it is getting too small, so I'm looking to move to either an estate with racks on top/on a towbar or a VW T5. I'm sure I won't be the first in this area of the forum to have the dilemma of compromising the bikes safety etc or the car. From this thread cars seem to be winning out so far.

So any recommendations for carrying 2x adult bikes and 2x kids bikes both for regular short journeys or longer occasional ones, including in to Europe?
I've replaced the BMW with something more suitable:

After splitting with my now X I needed something more practical than the Z4 from the original post as my only means of transport.
Just fitted my Thule rack and bars today that I picked up 2nd hand.
The 591 only just fits this bike with the forks in their lower travel position, which I am surprised by.

Can you share details of this suction mount bike rack? Is it genuinely sturdy? I was looking for a full Thule system for 2 bikes and it's just getting pricey with the various add-ons.

This looks like an awesome alternative

Called a seasucker. They do a couple of different models, some for multiple bikes too. I have the talon, same as on that Alfa too by the looks of it. They are very easy to use, just a little bit binary in terms of they're working, or your bike is on the carriageway.... Hopefully never the latter, but I'm always a bit anxious using mine, although, touchwood, its never given me a reason to doubt it. Mine just about squeezes into the boot with a couple of weekend bags (below), so more often than not I end up doing that if I have a longish trip.

Thanks for that. Just checked the pricing. Thule with the accessories needed is coming out cheaper!
