I had problems with freezing hands until someone suggested a ski mitten, so if the temperature is > 3c I will use a Galibier winter glove, but below this I will be reaching for a ski mitt.

In -1 yesterday morning, my hands were lovely and warm all the way in (15 miles).

I bought a cheapo pair of ski mittens from Aldi the other day and these worked to around 0 degree, but for temperatures below this I bought a £20 pair from Amazon.

They are a little cumbersome to use, but its worth it for not having freezing hurty hands.

These galibier light winter gloves are great down to about 5 degrees which covers most of my winter riding. On the odd occasion I venture out in colder conditions I wear some thin but stretchy merino gloves from primark for £2 underneath

Covers all bases and I don't like that gloves for properly cold days tend to be thick and cumbersome and are too hot for those 5 to 10 degree days.

They're showing out of stock at the mo, but being restocked shortly

I’ve been using these for the past few winters.

I’m often riding in to work at 05:00, and during the winter it can be stupidly cold at that time. On the severest cold rides, I put a pair of these on, underneath.

These look quite thin, I shall pop by and have a look at
My local, thank you.

I can only dream of overheating hands on a ride! My hands and feet are generally freezing so I’m hoping these and some Fizik Artica R5s will sort me out.
I got some Altura overshoes and they seem to keep the chill off.

This should be a separate thread, but I bought these Lake CK145s and have been using them so far this year in the colder weather with my summer merino socks. I've cycled through the coldest (London) weather this year - 0 degC and feet have been warm.

I've just bought a pair of 'work gloves' at Lidl. Billed as DIY/gardening gloves, they look suspiciously like bike gloves, and are very warn indeed. I haven't ridden in them yet, though, as I've been ill and it's been wet when I have ridden. These are them... http://offers.kd2.org/en/gb/lidl/pbPrF/

For wet rides I have a pair of Yachty's gloves. Neoprene to keep ye warm when they're wet, with reinforced palms designed to withstand wear from handling wet rope. I bought mine in a sale in a local seaside shop.

I find winter gloves hard to get right. I'm forever suffering with hands that are either too hot or too cold. I've yet to find that elusive pair of 'Goldilocks' gloves...

They are good in the dry, if you run warm. I could wear those in any temp but I am lucky in that I do run very warm. However, if its cold and you get rained on, your hands are in trouble with those. I remember riding am hour home from london in snow and I thought I was in serious trouble when I got home, I couldn't use my hands at all. It took a long time for the feeling to come back, because they take on all the water and don't dry, and also have no windproof properties.

If you can hold on another day or two, Spatz are due to release their first take on winter gloves which, if they’re anything like their overshoes, could well be bloody good.

I run hot but my hands and feet disagree so I struggle, particularly in cold AND wet conditions. And especially on the longer rides. Spatz overshoes have been a revelation and I'm really hoping they can work out how to crack the glove thing too.

I like the look of them. I wonder whether an apple watch can be worn comfortably underneath, as I rely on it for Strava.

Can’t say I’m that sold on them TBH :/ The long cuff, great, but nothing else stands out. A shame.

I'll reserve judgement until I've tried them but they look promising for certain types of ride.

Last winter I bought a pair of Castelli Boa winter gloves, I can't see them being advertised anywhere at the moment.

But I found them 100% waterproof and really warm so even when riding in the worst of the winter hands were warm and dry, long cuff as well but couldn't decide whether it was best to have the cuffs over hardshell or vice versa.

Thick Finnish hand cream
Jasmine silk thin underglove
Planet X lobster mitts or Canadian snowboard mitts with a fleece liner if it’s well below freezing and I‘ve put the spike tyres on!

Cuff under waterproof jacket or the rain runs down sleeves into gloves.

I use winter boots Northwave GTX which before I really struggled with cold feet and now never have a problem.

I was expecting these to work for me too but they didn't. I'm not entirely sure why but suspect it's a fit issue. A mid-foot cleat position and a need for fussy orthotics makes it tricky and/or expensive to run multiple shoes.
