My 1996 GT Zaskar. I bought it last year after seeing another one here somewhere. It was a pile of bits and I don't think much of it is original anymore. It is now 1x9.
1993 Saracen Kili Pro Elite. Now sold. Although I knew it was well made it wasn't until I put it up for sale that I realised how good the frame and components were.

I have the frame and components of one of these in the shed.
Keep thinking of building it back up, but have never really found the time.
Bugger, crawling through bay of theives to see what it would cost to get back on the road! Its still got Middleburn Cranks and XT / XTR Brakes & Shifters on it. So not needing that much. Keep thinking of building it back up, but have never really found the time.
Might dig it out this week and see what is needed. I always had the idea of just stripping it down and hanging the frame & forks in my office.
Not as good a spec as one I had....
Seems a bit optimistic with the pricing....

Did someone say retro bikes...
I’ll only post the ones I class as keepers. As it’d take too long for all the ones I’ve had recently.
Built this last year
To sit with my
And owned from new
And the mbuk Zaskar
Oh and my sts lobo which is now sold
I always wondered about the GTs. Was the top triangle solving a problem that did not exist?I’ll only post the ones I class as keepers. As it’d take too long for all the ones I’ve had recently.

Not technically retro as I had it built by Roberts in 2010 after doing a repair and re-spray to the Yeti below. Quality of frame and welding is superb
Owned the Yeti since 1993ish
Bought this on ebay recently for my 8 year old son and just had it re-sprayed. He doesn’t quite realise that he will be a retrobike fan yet
Just bought this recently for myself which I will get re-sprayed as above

I lusted after my mates Clockwork Orange, loved those bikes. My other mate had a Marin Muirwoods, loved seeing the colours of the one earlier. What was the difference between the yellow and the orange ones, completely forgotten.
.
The fluo yellow were Muirwoods, the orange ones were Eldridge Grade..
Eldridge Grade was red.
Some amazing bikes being posted, the Litespeed, Yeti and the Chas Roberts, along with all the Zaskars. Dream bikes; I'm going to get my lowly Pantera out this week.
I do remember an Apollo (Halfords special) that had the triple triangle design from the 90s; I dont think the top tube pierced the seat tube though.

Just a marketing ploy, but more importantly it’s a brand statement more than anything. Instantly tell it’s a GT with the triangle cross over. Always looked looked.
I think for a while GT suggested that it made for a stiffer frame; I don't think that was ever proved; I like the design but it's more awkward to clean!I do remember an Apollo (Halfords special) that had the triple triangle design from the 90s; I dont think the top tube pierced the seat tube though.

I think it was one of those things that was just a marketing cue, but without any actual practical merit. So said:

Does anyone remember the Marin model with box section frame? Another form over function design.

Other way round, but that was the best bit; the top tube end cap with the GT logo embossed.I had a '93 Tequesta, followed by a '95 insurance replacement (which were both too big) and ended up with the rather rare Zaskar X.
Still have the X, but I wrecked it.
Tyre clearance was poor at the chainstay (built for dusty California, in California) and running tyres as large as I could I managed to rub a nick out of the stay. Best bike I've owned and I'd still be running it if all the components weren't obselete.
