I'm 6` 3" & nudging 70 so the slimness has gone a bit I'm afraid due to fewer miles & the same appetite.
I recognise exactly the issue you have! I've got quite a few tops from years back but have found that there are some sellers on Ebay with stocks of `retro` kit & some of it is either new or as good as.
Taking this advice - a guy on Bike Radar/Etsy is selling a whole bunch of old jerseys, collected rather than worn, so I decided that if I like the older cuts and materials, I might as well buy older tops! The P&P was expensive... I bought 4 to make it worthwhile wink They came out at about £15 each all-in, not the end of the world if I don't like them.
To be honest, I didn't really mean to buy any, but I quite liked a white/green Skoda sponsored top, and when I clicked on the picture of the back, it said "RAPID" across it in big letters... guess what I'm driving at the moment biggrin Once I'd stuck one in the cart, it was a downhill slope!

Have a look at the Prendas Cyclismo jerseys, they’re more traditional in cut and construction than a lot of the more “technical” or “aero” jerseys.
I like these guys' style both on the tops and the sizing, so they're my current back up if the above fails.

And I have managed to find one top I like enough to keep - it's a Scott (so more US sizing than Italian) from Start Fitness, so heavily reduced, only £25... it's still that modern stretchy stuff but actually cut big enough that it fits, rather than constricts. Maybe I'll fall in love with it on the road?

OP - have a look at Torm. Merino smartwool rather than cling-film, sensible sizing, top quality IMHO and you're supporting a small bike shop. Downside is as they have small production runs, stock goes quickly. Follow them on social media so you can get an order in quickly when stock lands. I've got a T17 reflective short-sleeve and a T18 reflective long-sleeve. Sensible money at £72/75.

https://www.torm.cc

As a side note, I've been becoming more & more bemused by the prices being charged for clothing. A quick look on Sigma Sports shows plenty of choice in summer, short-sleeve jerseys which are £130, £150 or more eek
Another vote for Torm. Good kit in merino sportswool which washes well, so will last. Also a fairly long fit as designed by normal people, not Italian whippets.
Galibier is good to. I've only got their winter jacket and bibs, but impressed by the value, finish and function

Postage took a while, but they have arrived wink
I liked them so much, went back immediately and ordered 5 more! biggrin

All from here, he's got lots more. Each has the measurements across the chest under the armpits, and the length of the back, so pick a shirt that fits you well and measure that - all these fit pretty well, which is more than I can say for many of the manufacturer's size guides.

This lot arrived much more quickly...
Having taken the pics, I notice they're very similar in front and rear patterns. Again, all a reasonable-to-good fit, the Mondrian being the tightest race fit, the "speed" one should be hard to miss on the road, and the Rudy Project my overall favourite smile

Another vote for Torm; simple, comfortable, well made and effective without being a mobile branding banner.
