Kent, more st roads. Absolute disgrace. Had 4 punctures in 45 miles, or rather 4 holes the tubeless managed to seal up. Arse feels like it's been hit with a sledge hammer 20 times.

Saturday, not yesterday.

Nice route, although the previous days’ rain made some of the Kent lanes a bit grim and kept the Puncture Fairies busy.

Not having ridden in London for yonks I didn’t particularly enjoy that - and the one crash we saw in the whole day was a guy who hit one of the CS7 ‘wands’ and smashed himself up pretty badly.

10 of us rode, no mechanicals and just three punctures - but two of those were tubeless and both failed to seal so involved a lot of mess followed by a few miles limping along while we sorted out a meet-up with our support crew for spare wheels: PITA and no road tubeless for me anytime soon, that’s for sure.

Great day out, though - we’re looking at CTS’ partner event in Italy for next year.
My best effort was 310 km of the Festive 500 - Bristol-Cambridge-Northamptonshire Border.

18h 20m elapsed, 15h moving, because, when it comes to distance, I'm a slow bugger!

30 mile loop in the New Forest with the fatbike boys. My bike was looking decidedly anorexic in that company.

Good going on your own, that's for sure.

Our elapsed time was 16h, so 3 hours for food stops, waiting for people to catch up, dealing with punctures and helping the bloke who crashed - it always surprises me how quickly it adds up.

Did some hill reps of Steyning Bostal on the road bike yesterday, so today's mtb commute should have been a little easier...but plans change when you get on the bike!
There are several routes up to the SDW from Steyning, the obvious mtb route is hard (up the side of the MTB area in the woods off Mouse Lane) the easier one is away from work so I tend to do it when I have more time. There is a route that goes along the bottom of the Downs, but it goes behind Wiston House and I think part of it is footpath rather than bridleway, so had been avoiding it for a while. Have been that way a couple of times now, I walk the bike near the stiles but ride it on the wider sections. You get good views heading up to Chanctonbury -

The photos don't show the damp chalk, lying in wait like an evil slidey snake waiting to catch the unwary. You kind of expect to spin the back wheel when climbing up it, but it gets really frightening when you traverse across a chalk slope, and you are never sure if either wheel is going to slip out from under you.

Work has been progressing on this for years now -

Might as well catch my breath

Back on the bike, near the top of the climb -

This is by Sullington barn, a great technical descent somewhat spoiled by the knowledge of the farm track at the bottom that is usually 100 metres of unavoidable axle deep mud and cow slurry

It was there, but passable today, which is always a win.

Not all alone whatsoever, probably 1/2 was accompanied.
I did pull off a double century in 21.5 hours elapsed (moving was more like 14.5), which was mostly alone. Including a mechanical issue that I thought had me done for at about 10 km, but some helpful stranger in Bath fixed it for me. The chain was skipping for the next 190 miles, but it was an improvement over not moving at all thumbup

A little ride out to Romsey for me, this afternoon. The temperature was just about right, and the wind dropped off as well.

Spent the last 4 days riding in wales, taken loads of footage but very few photo's.
Its been banging weather all week which is a bit surprising.

So here's all the footage if you get bored or are genuinely interested in my riding over the last 4 days for work 😂

Thought I'd try push the boat out given I'd managed 45 miles tops before today

Onto 100 some day...

Looked a fun trip. Totally agree with your point on the eeb. They're perfect for multi-days like that - so few people have the spare time to train enough to do that kind of riding without feeling smashed by the 3rd day.

51 miles managed along local bridleways, paths and the red route at sherwood pines. I think building up a second set of wheels with some faster rolling tyres might be on the cards

Stunning day in North Yorkshire - looking very verdant.

Trails getting a bit overgrown mind.
