It was going so well, lovely Saturday morning spin on the Downs.
On the way to Devils Dyke, downhill, relatively chilled, runner coming up the trail, tried to get over to the left, front wheel said no, down I went at 30 kph.
Helmet wrecked. I felt winded, struggled to even sit up. The runner checked I was ok and then 4 guys on mtbs also stopped. One was a physio and he felt my ribs and chest. I was a bit worried that the longer I was stationary, the harder to get home it was going to be.
A bath and a shower later I felt really odd, so not going to A&E was not a choice. Broken clavicle possible broken elbow, bruised hip, grazed elbow and gouged wrist.
Part of me wondering if a 29er would have just rolled out of the rut?

Ouch. Crash of the month for you then...Heal fast. Lucky there were others around.
To answer your question, yes a 29er would have not had you off. Especially one hanging with shiny carbon and ally bits. Use your time off the bike wisely to plan this new bike purchase.

But I echo your sentiments, hope Dave is going to be ok soon.

This was my hip earlier today, 3 days after. Cheers folks! Just getting comfy on the sofa for 5 hours watching the Tour is the peak of my ambition for the next few days.
My hip after a spill a couple of years ago.
Hope you recover quickly and are back on the bike soon.
Summer is here at last... for the first time this year, tonight I thought "I'll go out later, when it's cooled off a bit" instead of "I'll go out now, before it chills off."
Normally I post pics here that are slightly pretty/interesting, but mainly proof-of-ride.
Tonight's, though, is a rare one I'm actually proud of: Paxton's Tower in the golden hour
