How could you not crepe? rofl

I was a bit sad I didn't cycle in to work today; there was a touch of snow about in the morning, and I didn't want to any risk of having to ride home in icy conditions (a long-awaited karate grading tomorrow - I did NOT want to be falling off my bike today!) ... then it turned out a be a great day/evening for riding!
Hope you enjoyed it, anyway smile

It’s a bit different at Deggie today…

Wow! I'll show that to my son in the morning. The snow would have been even deeper at the top too!

Snow sign of snow around here biggrin

Bike is handling brilliantly again after recent servicing - forks esp were feeling second rate, and was a tepid 23C at 0630…

There were about 30 school kids there so I opted for a quick fix smile

Best safe ref the ice.

It was a nice day here & it’s a decent route.

So that's Mumbles Railway path along the sea front, Clyne Valley railway path to Gowerton, and the Millennium Coast Path to Burry Port? I remember when the railway path ended at Dunvant (old) Station, and with no Millennium Coast Path it was the 'A' road through Llanelli, past Stradey Park. I bet it's a lot nicer of a trip these days.

All being well, I'll be down there in a couple of weeks, "racing" (not really, I've done nowhere near enough training for it) at Battle On The Beach in Pembrey Country Park. I'm hoping to see family while I'm there too, and they are spread all over, Gorseinon, Garden Village, Pontarddulais, Swansea, Penllergaer. Not sure I'll have either the time or the energy for much exploration by bicycle but I'll try to fit something in either before or after my "race" if the weather plays nice...

Ride up to Tagaytay for me with a quick pitstop for a bacon and egg sandwich.

Dry season for me so this is about as dirty as I can get

Yes, join the path to Gowerton at Blackpill. I remember that before it was tarmaced. Heavy gravel after they took the tracks up. Being a Killay boy, my playground as a kid in the 70s & 80s. From Gowerton, pick up the cycle path to Penclawdd but turn off on the Loughour marsh road, that was flooded but I went through it. Over the Loughour bridge & pick up the coastal path from there. There’s a bit that’s rough as you join it, about 100 yards of it but great after that.

Lovely route but usually windy and rarely in your favour… lol.

Bournemouth (OK, Littledown) to Hengistbury Head and back on Sunday. 13 miles, lots of traffic free paths and low traffic roads, but so many people out walking (with and without dogs), considering it was blowing a hoolie and rain was forecast later. I managed to pick my way carefully through the crowds on the road down to the Mudeford beach huts, but my considerate approach was being undone by other cyclists whose impatience was, at times, staggering, especially as many of those walking were young kids. They're not the most predictable of road hazards at the best of times (the kids, I mean) so I was a bit annoyed with a number of those other cyclists riding too fast and not giving peds (what I'd consider to be) enough space.

Nice....a brace of Slates.

Quick question for you.

Need some new tyres. 650b x 42mm are not too common, but there are loads of 47mm tyres around. It looks like you have some sort of WTB (maybe) on yours.

What are they...what frame size is yours and what is the tyre clearance like?

Medium frame.

Rear triangle is limited to 42mm, if you value your paint, front you can go a lot bigger.

I’m running WTB Resolutes (42mm) good all round tyre for road and mixed offroad conditions.

You can squeeze 43mm Panaracer GravelKing SKs in, as the profile is slightly different (or go 38s).

Also some alternatives from Rene Herse (not cheap) or Soma (also made by Panaracer, remortgage your house…)

I’ve also tried a WTB Sendero (47mm) up front with a Resolute out the back. Great front end grip, but draggy on road.

The Resolutes are the best compromise for the £££.

Diamond! Thanks for the info.

For info I am currently running Clement Strada USH (also branded as Donnelly). Been really good tyres both on and off road assuming dryish conditions. Just quite difficult to find in the UK. I got them for a really good price fro PlanetX (I think) but they don't have any left.

Will give the Resolutes a whirl.
