Not a massively exciting nor arty photo, more of a small achievement - first non-electric ride since August! Terrible, I know....

Anyway, a wee pootle round Beddington Park / Farmlands and the Wandle Trail, nothing too strenuous, hopefully I get motivate myself to do more and more this year...

I'm struggling with motivation too. Maybe the Argon18 Dark Matter demo gravel bike I picked up at a local shop today will help? It's got to go back Tuesday afternoon, so I'm going to have to buck my ideas up and ride it whatever the weather is going to throw at me tomorrow.

A couple of abandoned or unfinished roads. Starting with Yate's road to nowhere.

Then it was across to the unfinished debacle of the M49's only intermediate junction.

Parked my steed to get a pic of a statue of a cartoon cowboy on his steed.

One from last week, which I forgot to post.

12,000 lumens. Makes night riding like daylight.

Magicshine Monteer 12000.

They had 25 percent off last year.

It is bonkers. It really does allow you to ride as fast as during the day - still need a head torch for tight stuff mind.

I'm also struggling with motivation, waiting for shoulder replacement surgery and being 59 redface it really feels like I'm moving into a new stage of life. I don't want another crash which might delay the op - if it ever becomes a date - and knowing I'll be off the bike for maybe two months makes it hard to get out and ride, especially at this time of year. I'm trying to console myself with planning a very long ride, which will require a new bike...

A couple from yesterday -

There was a ground frost overnight, so in the hope that had dried the trails out, I went up one I usually avoid after heavy rain. This is after the first part of the clinb up the side of a field, which was the boggiest I had ever known it. Somehow crazy slippery but still clinging to the bike and tyre knobbles too. Had a photostop here to capture the temperature inversion and some breath before the hard part of the climb.

Weather a bit nicer up on the top, that's the delights of Worthing down there somewhere.

The local Athletics Club were running their Steyning Stinger event, half marathon, 30k and full marathon distances are available.
I did the half about 15 years ago in biblical rain, it was like training for the Marines without the 50kg rucksack. The guy in red in the photo was in the first 20.

A Google panorama, up at Chanctonbury Ring.

Yeah... Wouldn't have bought without 25 percent off.

That said in comparison to the other mega light brands, it's significantly cheaper for the spec - even full price.

I'd rather pedal than go to a gym and it's cheaper than a gym membership.

How much is it private? Worth considering if you can afford it.

I needed knee surgery a few years back. Was a ~ 12 month waiting list, so no biking or walking for a year. Worth every penny to get it done in weeks and skip holidays that year to cover the cost.

Great photo and bike looks mint!
