Got out last night on one of the analogue bikes with Mut No2, he's in training for being a trail dog for No2 daughter.

The little git didn't have the decency to feel in any way tired, not even any panting.

First time I've had my Banana out in the park this year. Actually felt like summer.

50 km this evening after work.

That's just the warm up! Although I don't rate my chances of getting further than Leicester in all honesty... but I may as well try.

Stopped to watch the surfing this morning - it’s been flat calm for a few days but there’s some swell at the mo...

Last night

For anyone who knows the area I'm surprised that so many good trails are now overgrown. Just infront of the trig point was a great techy descent. Now overgrown and of course the old start of Yoghurt pots has been blocked. Over by Peaslake there's a old tree blocking another.....but it's still there (brings you out down the side of the bike hut in Peaslake) smile

Probably heading up on Monday morning for a session - looking forward to it as the dry weather kicks in...

Yoghurts wasn't blocked on Sunday? that's odd?
I can't say it was that overgrown either, but I also know how my local trails just this week has overgrown with nettles since the weekend.

Back in the day there was a lovely steep drop-in, somewhere in what is now open heath-land judging by my visit last weekend (which, in fairness, was my first time there in 15 years hehe)

there's one just down from Yoghurts called Crackpipe, or up on the next peak there's thick and creamy Bag puss etc

Don't talk to me about Thick and Creamy! Wasn't aware it was a black and didn't walk it first, ended up having an "off" and scraped my arm up!

Took my packed lunch out yesterday. It's only a kilometre away, but it's very quiet and peaceful.

First ride in 6 weeks or so as bike has been away having a service done as a bunch of things were getting all funky so figured I'd make it a shop's problem then once sorted I'd maintain it thereafter. Turns out the local bike shop I used in the past to do the drivetrain upgrade install did a poor job, used the wrong spacers on the BB, incorrectly installed the rear 12sp cassette, incorrect torques resulting in cone nut coming loose, smallest cog was offset too meaning not seating inside the ferehub properly and over time has damaged the freehub so I need a new one (or new wheelset upgrade)....

Anyway, rides fine for now apart from the hub bearing noise rattle, everything else is spot on now though which I am happy with. Rode it back from the shop 20 miles and made a few stops along the way.

And some KFC for my belly at the 18 mile mark...

Post-ride inspection laugh
