Eves all - I'm hoping the hive mind of PH can help me out

I'm looking to get a new bike on cycle to work - had a couple this way before, so no issue there

I want to buy a Merrida Reacto from my LBS for £2400 and upgrade the wheels straight away

As much as I want to stay with the LBS, I'm not sure what they can offer as they are primarily a MTB shop .

Could I buy the bike from them on C2W and then buy some £700 wheels from Hunt (or similiar) on C2W as well, so 2 concurrent vouchers?

Its a small biz and I will be administrating the scheme myself using one of the usual 3rd party providers

Any guidance most appreciated - I can see the look on my other halfs face now if I go and spend £700 on wheels of our own cash as soon as I get a bike, so was hoping to hide it all before tax!

I don't think so as it's a voucher, paid by your employer and can't be split. When i used my last one i had to name my supplier at the time of acquiring the voucher but eventually i bought a different, more expensive, bike (and paid the difference myself) from elsewhere (Ribble lead times, yawn) and had to get my scheme provider to recover the voucher from Ribble and send it to the new one.

Perhaps you could get your LBS to source them for you (perhaps even from your preferred retailer) then add them to your bike? you might pay a little more but probably still save via the C2W.

Is your partner able to do it too?

The vast majority of cycling stuff comes via a select number of importers/resellers/distributors.

Just because your bike shop sells MTBs doesnt mean they can't get what you want - they will have accounts with Zyro, Moore&Large, Upgrade, Hotlines, Madison etc etc... Just ask them.

Cheers all

Yes I have asked them and waiting on response, I'm just thinking ahead in case, they are pretty good so will see what they say.

No partner doesn't work

I'm thinking as you can get two bikes on C2W I can get two vouchers in case the shop cant source the wheels , but will wait and see .

i did this the first time but i think we were self administering the scheme at that point so it was easy.

i dont think you can do it if using a 3rd party.

Why dont you apply for two vouchers and see what happens? The worst thing that can happen is that one of them gets rejected.

Hmm. I debated whether I should spend £105 on a new back wheel for my tourer. The old wheel was still working but the braking surface was clearly concave.

I love threads involving £700 wheels as it removes any hint of buyer's remorse.

This one. Locked outside a Wetherspoons as I type

Why do you want a with mechanical shifting going through the headset? Also when the bearing wears out you have to cut the hydraulic brake hoses. Oh and Mike Hunt wheels. I'll say no more.

Master Bean! Ha your comments yesterday down the pub makes sense!

I'm not 100% sure you are correct - but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt - A large part of me wants a modern classic cinelli frame such as the Vigorlli that is easy to setup and maintain, but fck it I went with what the local shop had .

My last wheel was £60 SH off ebay for my commuter - but I fancied getting a decent set for 5 years plus hard road use on 60 - 100 mile rides week in week outr.

For a bit of thread closure I went with a set of FFWD Tyro2s and the Reacto 4000 - Mainly I wanted some tough carbon wheels and a nice frame, ideally a cheaper groupset as its cheap to maintain.

As most people find, so much choice with bikes, but you are limited to what is in stock or what is soon to be stock - not sure I would want to wait 6 months + for a bike only for it to be delayed even more
