Cheapest easiest would be a hub kit like a Yose, but that dropped top tube might stop you mounting the battery.

Are there no options for attaching battery to a pannier rack?
(I am ignorant of these kits)

There certainly are options for a rear rack battery.

The bike in the picture even has rear rack mounting points. The wheel size looks like 700c.

Probably best not not fit a front wheel hub motor, aluminium suspension forks are not recommended for that.

A rear wheel hub kit would probably be the easiest option.

Yeah but that means all the weight is on the rear. Your missus + battery+ hub motor. Ideally its best to get some of the weight forward. But it would be great for wheelies smile

True but there are plenty of e-bikes like it.

Yes cheap for an ebike kit. They have gone up though. I paid £320 for mine, full kit with 400wh battery and 250w rear hub motor.

Yup, dropped tube would not be easy to fit a downtube battery.

Yosepower list no rack mounted kits on eBay. However, they do have one on their own website but that particular kit appears to be in their German warehouse and they do not ship EU to non-EU i.e Germany to UK.

But, they do have rear racks with batteries AND kits with no battery in their UK warehouse, its all very confusing;

https://yosepower.com/collections/uk-shipping

Woosh do have complete rack kits though:

Is that enough juice for our bike?

I would imagine that would be fine.

The battery could be mounted on the top tube of that bike - you'd just have to put all the rivnuts in, rather than using one or two bottle cage mounts - but (a) it might make getting on and off harder for her, and (b) it will look very cack.
I'd definitely go rack mount. Very easy to swap on to another bike in the future if desired, too.

I sorta went off the Swytch, despite it being in pole position when I started looking at kits... the overall understanding I reached was that there was nothing particularly special about the battery, or about the motor or the wheel... the neat bit was their handlebar mounting system... which uses a proprietary contact/joining system for the battery and controls... and guess which bit people were having trouble with?
(Oh, and their odd "pre-order and it'll be the same price as a.n.other kit instead of stupid money" selling system)

Which is why I ended up at Whoosh. It would be possible to buy the bits separately and save some money, but the guarantee they would work fine together, and as it turned out Whoosh's advice, service and after sale support are well worth the little extra.
