The Domane rides well. you feel very little vibration through the saddle. You notice in your feet when your riding bumpy surfaces. I'm not a strong cyclist but I'm quite heavy, but when I stand and push hard there is no discernible flex . Perhaps more serious riders would, but for me it's spot on.
If you want one, order one soon because they are a popular bike and trek seem to not produce enough for the market. Mine is a 5.9 and with Di2 and it really is a lovely thing.

My Triban 500 arrived Bit worried at first as the box was absolutely fked but the bike seemed to have survived.
Compared to my carrera subway, its a revelation, I steam up hills now. Just trying to get used to best handlebar position right now. It's a tiny bit cramped but I think that's more down to my beer gut and lack of flexibility.
Not overly impressed with the MicroShift. The rear derailleur is smooth as gravy and I barely notice its working. The front is a different matter, it seems to have almost a preload setting for the second cog that messes the whole sequence up and the throw on the lever is huge. Think a bit of adjustment is in line! Don't see the point in 3 cogs forward to be honest, And the chain managed to fall off. How I dont know
It has highlighted the sheer crapness of the road near me though, I got shaken to fking bits. Will a thicker tyre solve this?

I love the Triban 500, had mine for a year and it's been a fantastic bike and I've had no issues with it, if anything happened to it I'd happily buy another to replace it. You'll get 25mm tyres to fit with no problems and your ride quality will improve no end, much better than 23's especially on poorer road surfaces. I also changed the saddle as it's not the comfiest thing out there. Regarding the front derailleur I had no issues with mine, except after a year of commuting abuse it managed to throw the chain off the big ring while shifting up a couple of weeks ago. No idea how but this happened in one of the more interesting parts of the city centre during my commute home...Compared to my carrera subway, its a revelation, I steam up hills now. Some more pictures of my Trek Domane 4.5 Disc. It's difficult to get decent pictures sometimes because of the matt finish. It will be getting some new pedals soon too.
You need to learn how to balance a bike against the wall using just the rear tyre, saves loads of scratches on your bars Here's my old school road bike, Bought from the original owner...
Raleigh sbdu team pro panasonic, Reynolds 753 and full Campag super record. I owned 10 vintage road bikes until recently when I sold them to buy the motor, a few colnago's, a pinarello used as a training bike for the Italian cylcing team in the 1980 Olympics (so the 90 year old Milanian told me)
Probably should have kept this, the rarest of all Raleigh sbdu bikes, the team pro 753 in chrome, all nos, found in an old boys closed bike shop in Germany at the back of the store room still boxed. A guy got in his car and drove all the way over from Holland to bribe me with cash just for this bike.

My new bike. I have only done a 14 mile TT on her Wed night so no miles yet, until tomorrow but so far very impressed with how comfortable it is and a nice climber, but I have come from a year 2000 Marin hunters point which whilst a nice bike and quite good in it's time is no match for this. Also it's nice to treat yourself once in a while. It will look better once the matching elite cages turn up. It took ages to de sticker it out of the box, everything had a warning sticker stuck over it and of course the wheel reflectors and the Dork disc had to come off. Cannondale Supersix EVO Sram red 22
Didn't build this one as been traveling too much and then whilst away slipped 2 discs and had to come back early from NZ, consolation is my LBS did a great job putting this together for me. I cracked the frame on my Dirty Harry and couldn't replace so bit the bullet and bought the frame that it's geometry was borrowed from. Managed 2kms home from the bike shop with my knackered back and will try to get some flat kms in tomorrow, but it's begging to be ridden fast on the trail ... Unfortunately 5wks off the bikes and a knackered back mean I'm not as ready as it is.
You wait for one and then ..... This is waiting for to collect in the Netherlands in a couple of weeks when I'm back. Can't wait. Need to get back sorted quickly so I can really get some kms again.

I think that could be an excellent purchase. Were I buying a bike tomorrow, a GCF would top my list of potentials. Look forward to your first ride report come early June!
Still seems a bargain given the specs. One week gone 6 more to go
That's lovely!
Did 80km and 2388m of elevation yesterday on the Selkirk MTB Marathon. Very hard work but good fun. Rode my girlfriends Commencal Meta AM 29 as my Spesh is currently dead. Such a gret bike when it gets fast and steep. The brakes are utter garbage though. Formula RX. The worst hydraulic brakes I've ever used.
