Wasn't talking about your bike, but yes, those bars are in the wrong place.

Are those extensions mounted the wrong way around? Interested how you can use them in that position?!

I think they are technically in back to front - but some of the pro triathletes have started riding with very high hands like this - getting their heads behind their arms.

Joe Skipper rides like it at the moment and he now has the fastest Ironman time by a UK athlete.

Yes, they are reversed in order to provide a high hand position. If you are interested, have a read of this http://www.ero-sports.com/index.php/aeropositionin...

Just googled this, aero position looks all, wrong but can't fault the results. Can't find a vid with him on this bike. Looks an interesting position. Any pro TT riders trying it?

Not majorly as UCI regs limit the elevation to 10cm from the pads, however CTT don't and plenty of the 30MPH guys on the domestic scene are doing it

Plenty are not doing it too.

What is fast for one rider isn't fast for all, aerodynamics very individual I reckon.

I have ski bars which elevate hands a bit, but not as much as that.

Absolutely. I had the bars to hand and I wanted to give the position a try. We'll see how it works in time

Initially I found it in the box it was delivered in...

smile

Seriously though, I'm only three days into the initial 'playing' stage but so far I enjoy the fact that I spin the pedals and they're ready for action! Like a set of scales, as long as they settle at zero when there is no load (feet off) then there's no need to 'calibrate' or manual zero / tare. (According to Verve, I'm monitoring the data to see how consistent it is. So far it seems very consistant!)

They were dead easy to fit as they simply replaced the Shimano crank set that I had fitted originally. Although the only thing I did find is that the crank set securing nut has a torque value of 45nm but as I got near to 'clicking off' with the torque wrench it was binding up the bottom bracket! I was concerned about crushing the frame so at the moment I backed it off and just took the play out of the wavey washer. I've emailed infocrank to see if there's any advice they can give. If not I'll get my LBS to take a look (The bottom bracket bearings are on the way out anyway I think - judging by the random 'clicking') - It feels ok though and the clicky bottom bracket hasn't got any worse than it was!

I'm planning a FTP run on the turbo trainer Monday morning to give me a bench mark starting point and I've have a training program in mind for some racing in 2017...

Not as fancy as other bikes on here but new 2nd hand to me bike. £150 Ridley with retro paint job which makes a change to the black bikes.

Hopefully a good bike to start road riding.

That looks absolutely awesome!
Top 2nd hand buying. Love the colour co-ordinated bottle cage which I am guessing with reasonable certainty is new. Don't ask me how I know.

Since I made the same mistake with mine, on both cages I'll confess. It's upside down... you'll find it easier to put a bottle in if you mount it the other way up.

N+1 arrived today but I won't be able to take it out until Friday at the earliest as the tubs need to be glued on frown

Still to change the saddle, put my pedals on, dial in the seatpost height & bars plus fit the tubs
