Love the colour of that S-Works!

As above great photo too
Cheers. Was expected a bit of stick turning up to club rides on a bright pink bike but its gone done really well. Most admit they wouldnt be brave enough to choose it though.

This is my latest toy. It's been in winter storage lately but hope to get it out for a blast soon. 😍

You've got to style it out. My old club's colours were pink, made it a lot easier. Lots of big burly blokes with pink bikes and kit laugh

It looks tremendous! And at no point should anyone comment on a certain Noels House Party character... :-D

Lovely Factor above also. John Ebsen is coming to the RCC Clubhouse in Hong Kong on Friday to talk about 'the rise of all-road bikes' and then joining us for a ride-out on Saturday.

There’s a frameset of one of these in that colour in my LBS and it looks stunning.

I really need to stop looking in this thread as I’m getting serious bike envy.

OK - first ride out on this today. My word it's a thing.
Hi - What model number/full spec is this Bianchi?
What a thing of beauty it is and a great write up to boot.

Oltre XR-4 2019 spec
Ultegra di2 / disc - with satellite buttons in the hoods
11-30 rear (because hills in HK)
Carbon Fizik Arione and carbon seatpost
Carbon Vision Metron 5D bars with internal routing and garmin mount
Di2 junction box in the bar-end (on earlier versions it was under a panel in the bar).

The wheels / tyres are the only 'let-down', Aluminium Fulcrum Quattros.
I love the straight pull spokes. I also love the near silent freehub. But the bike definitely deserves some deeper carbon wheels - I'll deal with that in due course.

I had a longer ride last night. though still damp. It's just - faster (vs my 2015 Felt AR3 with Ultegra) - everywhere. Not by a lot, but it's noticable.

Slightly disconcerting, the lack of noise and buzz means there's no real sensation of speed until arriving at corner, at which point I was thankful for the discs.

Honestly - I can't stress enough how smooth the ride is, and I think over the course of a day that would make a huge diffrence to the ability to hold speed. I'm smitten and a half.

That off road wheelchair is awesome, must take some insane bravery to throw yourself down trails in that! How does she get on with it?

My new toy.

First impressions after a grand total of 34km of riding (social occasions preventing playing with bicycles frown)

Di2 is cool, even if it feels a bit unnecessary - yet to play about with the syncro shift. Like that it sounds like an angry bee. Still getting gearshifts wrong coming from Campag - proper fat fingering the gears on those little paddles.

Shimano just get hoods - nothing comes close in terms of comfort. I have Record on my Scott and it's good, but not a mark on the Shimano. (Sram feels like holding a sharpened brick.)

Tubeless and 25s? The future. Noticeably more comfortable than 23s on my Scott Addict. Was tempted to swap the tyres out for GP5000TLs, but seems a bit frivolous to not at least try the Giant offerings.

Wheels are surprisingly quiet for carbons (boo!), the freehub is tranquility shattering though (yay!) - between that and the Di2, you would be forgiven for thinking the construction of the bike was 50% bees. It stops surprisingly well, even with silly aero brakes and a carbon brake track (yay!) Dont know if they will do much in the wet, but I doubt this bike will see much water.

I don't like the drops (have always had anatomics) and they feel flexier than the beefy Ritchey Carbons on my Scott - not sure if it because everything else about the bike is stiffer than a stiff thing though. Will give them a chance.

Saddle feels comfier than my battle scarred Arione - time will tell.

Owning a torque wrench highlights how overly tight everything was on every other bike I have owned. Sorry bikes!

Things to do:
Sort out the cables, Di2 and Garmin mount. I like my brakes Euro (front on the left) and this will tidy up the cable routing loads, plus reduces the risk of me doing a salmon dive over the bars.

Stem is slowly making its way down - the geometry feels like it is encouraging you to get steep. I have horrible flexibility, but yoga (lol) has really been helping and the saddle to bar drop on the giant feels quite upright now that I can actually bend in the middle...

It isn't quite as bling as a new aero bike with hidden everything and an icebreaker prow on the front, but it was a steal and I am super chuffed with it.

Maybe a Google Image quirk. That should work now. Plus a gratuitous shot of the Scott it is replacing:

She's still getting used to it.
The current gearing is 22/22 so looking to change the front rings to 26t to give a bit more speed.
She's only really used it on the flat and gravel at the moment - hoping to get her confidence up when the gearing is a bit better.

Finally found a way to get brake rotors onto my new wheels (long and boring story) so it was nice to have a gravel/mud ride yesterday.

Started as an AL GT Grade Claris bought for £180. Full 5800 hydro, Hope 20FIVE/Pro4 wheels, 35mm Gravel King SKs running tubeless. Fantastic gravel bike, absolutely love it, and the new wheels are seriously impressive (I was running Hunt 4 Seasons, which were lovely, but with 24 spokes they weren't strong enough to carry my fat arse over rough terrain, so they're now on road duty).

My new Look 765 Optimum Disc, picked it up last Thursday.

Been procrastinating about a new bike for the last 2-3 years and although I knew I wanted an endurance bike I just couldn't make my mind up. Been riding in France quite a few times over the years and noticed quite a few Look bikes (they are a French company) ridden by locals, always thought they looked good. I also liked the fact you hardly ever see one in the UK....

Finally made my mind up last year after riding over to watch Le Tour that I wanted a 765 as it sounded exactly what I was after for my riding. Unfortunately dealers aren't exactly that commonplace where I live so I thought I'd try one near the ferry ports in France. Cut a long story short I found a really good one, the sort of LBS you'd dream of having locally and finally ordered one in January.

After the 70 or so miles I've ridden it to date I'm really impressed, it's definitely the most comfortable road bike I've been on but one that also still handles well. The finish and build is very good, only upgrades in the near future will be to change the wheels out for a pair of Hunt wheels or something French. Actually very surprised to see Shimano wheels on it, the rest of the range use Mavic or Corima but the disc model unfortunately doesn't.

All in all I'm chuffed, can see me buying another Look bike but maybe do a 785 Huez RS build next time.
