I'm really warming to the two frames idea. Stiffee and a Meta 5.5 is what's settling in my mind.
Good lad - wise choice, you knows I'm right biggrinhehe

If you get yourself to Bristol, you're welcome to borrow my Meta 5.5 for a test ride at Cymcarn or something if you like? thumbup

(although you're a shortarse I think, so it may be a bit big - its a M/L)

I demo'd a medium Meta 5.5 round Afan a few months back and it was awesome. I'd need to spend some more time on set-up (pedal strikes and bobbing were excessive) but the underlying bike was great.

Commencal frames do seem to be awesome value.

Need to throw my leg over atom111's ride at some point too. Although being the Brand we I am I'd still hanker for a Hustler ;-)

I find myself striking the ground freqeuntly whilst seated as well - a little annoying - but a price to pay for an incredibly stable bike.

It corners like no other XC bike I've riden, and the BB height has a hand to play in this.

Not much you can do, other than adapt your riding style.

Regarding the shock, I can wholeheartedly recommend getting a Fox PUSH'd by TFT as mine has been stunning to ride - it stops the bobbing when you need it, yet perfectly free itself up when needed.

They are indeed an incredible deal biggrinif you can find one

Pedal Strikes are a by product of the Full Sus the Five was a pig the first time I went up Cwn Carn on the climb, but you do adapt and then enjoy the stability on the way down.

Maybe we need to try and get a social ride in Cwn Carn sorted sometime soon?

This isn't STW, so we don;t have to come over all weird about On-One, but why would you have a 456 on your list instead of a ScandAl?

Frame strength? Fork travel requirement? Iron fetish? Or something else?
Be nice to keep it a bit more balanced with regards to the brands mentioned on here wink STW can be a bit like one long on-one advert some days smile

I don't know what you mean. STW is a diverse and tolerant utopia.
