sold my ribble, now what do i get?

ok .. so my ribble has gone .. the frame was too big for me now that I'm getting old and not as supple as i used to be .. and whilst i used to enjoy road biking i'm not so keen these days but don't want to give it up completely .. so ..

I'm looking for a new road bike now .. something with a short top tube would be good as my poor old back doesn't like being bent too far forwards these days .. also want some nice wide touring gear ratios .. and last the real killer, I have a budget of up to 350 pounds .. any good bargains out there at the moment?

Dont do it ! Just get your sorry ass up to Baslow etc and ride your mountain bike.

would rather have a proper road bike rather than road mountain bike, it just seems wrong for some reason!
