on my return to trying to be serious about cycling. It was awful.

Just about to start descending down a hill in Richmond Park today, and I took a quick swig from my water bottle but as I pushed the spout back in to close it, it nipped my bottom lip.

As I got to the bottom of the hill my mouth tasted funny and I was getting a few odd looks.

Put my hand to my mouth and found it dripping with blood. It was everywhere, I looked like a vampire or a zombie.evil

Probably thanks to the blood thinning and anti coagulant drugs that I am on.

So a warning to everyone, beware of your water bottles.

I once cycled down a path that had lots of nettles and brambles. Guys in front of me had long sleeves, I was in short sleeves. It was also raining. When I came out the end of the path my arms were completely covered in blood ie lots of small cuts combined with rain meant my arms were awash with the stuff. It didnt actually hurt as the cuts werent at all deep but it looked like a horror movie. Everyone thought I was terribly brave!
