I have snapped 3 chains, all Shimano. I have since run about 6 or 7 SRAM chains, maybe more, no issues. I think general consensus is that SRAM chains are better quality than Shimano (that's my view and experience anyway).

Similar experience here. SRAM chains just seem to be a bit hardier than Shimano ones.

Since I put the SRAM link in the chain two weeks ago the chain has been removed and cleaned twice, along with the rest of the bike
me too...already had the SRAM link, but a small bottle filled with diesel to clean my chain in over night has meant my transmission is silky smooth all the time ...very happy.
