Carbon? ears drool.... I'm stuck with an ali MTB as I do four miles on the roughest boneshaking track known to man. That said, I can do wheelies and stoppies on it biggrin

yes

Ribble Deda Nero Corsa with Campag kit. (Pic in the show off thread)

It was that or the Boardman Team and the choice of voucher scheme made the choice for me.

At £40 a month if I use it once a week it's effectively free.

Was the 14 miles one way JAYB?
Yep.

Perversely, I'm looking forward to the ride back.
If you're not bike fit at the minute doing that even a few times a week will make huge differences. Soon your legs won't ache, mine ached at first and I was only doing 4 miles!!!. And probably spunking £2k on something carbon hehe
Can you define this 'soon' you speak of?

Since that first ride on Friday I've done approx 30 miles every day and though I am loving it, there hasn't been much reduction ache wise..

Jokes aside, I don't know how old you are, but it took me aboue 6 weeks for it to be effortless.

Last night I went for it hugley and on every bit of road I was going between 26-30 mph and ten mins later at home they were fine.

30 miles a day will be doing huge things for your fitness and bodyfat I would guess too!

True, but think of the money you're saving, and all this cycling means you can forget about the gym or any other excersise (unless you're into building muscle up top) and you'll have the legs of an athlete by the end of summer biggrin

And remember it took my 6 weeks probably because I only have 4 miles to go each way, I would think that you might be even faster than that. but odds on I'm also much younger so I guess its 6 and two 3's.

I had to concede defeat thhis evening.

Since Friday, the first time I've been on a bike in years, I've covered circa 120 miles.

I simply could not get on the bike tonight, my legs would not work. I am ashamed.

I think I was a tad ambitious. Am going to try 3 days a week rather than 5 untill I'm a bit fitter.

I personally much prefer riding into work 3, or 4 times a week.
Means you can go out and actually enjoy the weekend ride, and gives you a little time to recover too !

Hell yes. After last weeks epic fail of 2 punctures I finnaly made it, and up'ing the total route to 17 miles (approx) to avoid the puncture area shortcut. Took about 1.40 which I am pretty happy with. Looking forwards to the return leg.
