Im after some suggestions for a weekends riding in a few weeks time.

The only requirements are
1) good campsite
2) Novice friendly trails (for the GF's)
3) good pub & food near the campsite
4) within a couple of hours drive of reading

Where shall we go?

Thanks

Why not go to Afan, but stay in a B+B - much more comfy than camping, and a great place to ride too!

Is Afan novice and girlie friendly? Not sure...

New Forest is not known for its riding but we have found some excelent rides. Dont tend to be very long and there is masses of friendly fire trails, not very hilly. If that is boring there is plenty of reasonably challenging cattle trails which are quite fun. The good thing about the New Forest is rides tend to culminate at a great Pub.

Go to Peak Park. Could camp in Edale. There are tons of white peak and dark peak rides for all abilities. Maybe camp near Ladybower (Hathersage). There are some great rides around that area. Or camp near Chatsworth House/Bakewell and some of the rides around that area are very good. Easy drive up from Reading (M40, A43, M1).

weve had a bit of a result, the girls are going to stay at home and cook, and we are going to get up early and go to afan for the day and have a nice dinner waiting for us when we get back. Not quite the weekend i had planned but it will do biggrin

Thanks for all the suggestions, i really fancy the peaks at some point, maybe later in the year

Dalby is quite a good day out, and i hear the new world cup course is really good!

Plus there is a campsite right outside the gate that looked quite nice.
