Hello again,

off the back of my request for a route creating website, does anyone know an app that will allow me to either make a route and follow it like a proper sat-nav or allow me to upload a route to follow?

This will be for road only, and will save lots of money by not having to buy a garmin 705 smile

Hope your battery will last for the longer rides.

Walk me through the process if you could, I gues you make the route in open streetmap, then export?

But if you could give me some exact details, that would be great.

Do you use a mount for the handlebar?

iphone 4 battery is a lot better, and even if it only lasts 3 hours that should see me getting on for 50 miles. I really only want it to get to my mums place and back, I''ll get lost otherwise biggrin

Create your route on bikehike or similar, save the gpx file, then import it to the phone. http://www.viewranger.com/manuals/ViewRanger_iPhon... show you what to do just look under Files/GPX support. I'm not 100% sure if OpenStreetMaps works with the iphone, I use a Desire.

The route can be hard to see at times, take a look at this, it might be better http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/trails-gps-tracker/... it costs £2.39.

Yup gone for that, looks great.

Just a shame that at present there are very limited choice for iPhone 4 bike brackets frown

Motion X also takes gps routes. Pretty sure iTrails does too. Both free. Motion X has best GPS lock and also let's you create user waypoints on the maps on the phone.

Bought one from ebay, its pretty good in the bracket dept, but the clamp doesn't fit my handlebars, and I doubt would fit many roadbikes.
