Just up the A34 you have http://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/ridgeway/

There's an MTB sportive that also passes through http://www.testvalleytour.com/cool_mtb.htm

And also they hold short course XC here - http://www.ridgeracing.co.uk/Location.html

You also have Savernake Forest and Salisbury Plain a bit further out

But otherwise plenty of lovely bridleways in the area. I'm only just up the road, I'll come and ride some of the ridgeway with you if you like.

Thanks for the routes. I went up to stay the weekend with my brother but there wasn't time to ride. Next time I am up there I will arrange something with you! It is always better to ride with some local knowledge and it would be great to meet you!
